Ideal Weather: April marks the end of Costa Rica’s dry season (verano). You can expect warm, sunny mornings and clear blue skies that are ideal for outdoor adventures. Any brief afternoon showers are typically light, refreshing, and help cool down the warm tropical temperatures.

Lush, Rejuvenated Scenery: After months of dry weather, early rain showers cause the rainforests, cloud forests, and waterfalls to come roaring back to life. The flora turns vibrant green, making locations like Arenal and Monteverde exceptionally scenic.

Fewer Crowds : Once the Easter/Semana Santa and North American spring break crowds clear out, tourism numbers drop significantly in mid-to-late April. Optimal Water & Trail Conditions: Because the ground is still mostly dry, hiking trails across Arenal Volcano and Monteverde are easy to navigate.
