We've spent a few hours here and there recently pulling out all windows, painting the frames inside and out, and caulking, inside and out.

We initially went with butyl tape, decided that was too thin, then we went with a thicker weather strip type of butyl, and decided it was too thick and found it to be a bit porous in areas.

In the end, we stopped the few leaks we have by simply doing it completely over using Loctite roof flashing caulk on the inner frame channels and corners, then used OSI Quad caulk on the outer bottom seal.

For frame paint, we used Rustoleum 2x painters touch, white semi gloss.

During our recent storms, I'm happy to report that we've had no leaks and once good weather arrives, we'll give it a really hardcore work over with the hose just for further piece of mind.

It's been some time since we posted any updates. Mainly because there have been none to post. Weather and work make progress slow.

I did pickup Hazel from school today in the Lass, so that made for fun times and much needed exercise for the bus.

The ceiling, our friends, is all but complete. We're exactly 12 boards short. Another run to the depot tomorrow and that'll be all she wrote.

Fun facts about this ceiling:

207 boards ( 1 x 2 x 8 )
1,656 total board feet
828 screws (4 per)
207 total individual cuts
828 predrill holes

Cost:

$406 lumber
$97 screws
Labor: priceless

I'm stoked for this project to be about wrapped up. Granted, sanding and staining will be a project in and of itself.

The AC went out in the house yesterday, so as an added bonus, we're getting our "chill" on, in the bus, until the repairman shows up tomorrow.

Another home depot lumber pickup today results in the right side being complete all the way forward.

The batteries on both drills died almost simultaneously so we pause today's progress and look forward to it's completion tomorrow.

Exciting!

The saga of the Ceiling continues... more boards up, making progress 1.5" at a time. Ran out of lumber, again. Big surprise. Guessing to complete it all, we need another 4 bundles, 15 boards per, and 240 more screws, at 4 per board x 60.

A small fortune is going into this ceiling.

Insulated our indoor fresh water tank. The odds of a freeze here are not likely, but who knows where ultimately the Lass will end up one day, so the future is covered. (Ran out of foil tape, daggumit).

Our bus is not only a construction zone, but doubles as our storage facility simultaneously.

It was good to get one of these bulky foam board sheets at least out of the way.

Who else jumps between projects?

Turned this 4 x 8 sheet of plywood into our back cap this afternoon. Granted, it's not yet painted or center shelving cut out of it yet, but it hangs nicely temporarily.

Completed the back 3rd of the ceiling also, so we're officially touching both sides now. :)

We're touching a side, WoooHooo!

Few hours of work here and there as we have available. So many boards. Our ceiling is spreading out and looking better than anticipated.

And I said "Let there be light!" ... there was, and it were good.

The ceiling is growing out wider, and as I ran out of on hand lumber. I decided we'd run the isle puck lights and put in a dimmer switch. It's good to be able to actually see now.

The downside is the mess is now fully visible.

The ceiling is slowly widening itself. The 1×2's are turning out to be nice for the ceiling. There's just.so.many of them it's taking time.

It's basically 3 sections, each having to be special cut, to a total overall length of 25 foot and roughly 8 foot wide.

We're roughly 60 boards into it thus far, out of the 150 or so we've estimated for this particular project.

We've moved onto our ceiling. Initially, we planned to use plywood, cut into panels, and attached between ribs.

We quickly learned even 1/4" ply doesn't contour well. All that effort and cussing was for naut as in the end, we've decided to go with 1 x 2 x 8 furring boards.

We've started at the center of the bus, from the rear, working forward. Once we reach the front (and between the AC and fan), we'll start running from left to right.

In the end, we'll either paint it, or stain it. So far, so good. Lots of work, no doubt.
