I’m sitting at my kitchen table as I write this, so before I say anything, let me take a second to knock on wood. 🤞

This morning, our card reader stopped working. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize it until early afternoon. I had received an email from a technician saying he was pushing some software to fix a few of our ongoing problems.

Well…he broke it. 🙄

As they say, sometimes things have to get worse before they get better—and apparently, ours needed one final dramatic performance.

After spending two and a half hours on the phone with a new technician, he politely informed me that one of our software updates was three years overdue.

Three. Years.

That certainly would have been handy information to receive…oh, I don’t know…three years ago. Apparently, I missed the psychic notification.

But after several updates and a whole lot of troubleshooting, the pumps are working noticeably better. I’m cautiously optimistic that our electronic issues have finally been resolved.

Now, if everyone could please join me in knocking on wood, crossing their fingers, and avoiding any sudden movements near the pumps, I’d appreciate it. 😂

On this fine Labor Day, I’m cruising the beautiful backroads of South Dakota, delivering fuel and listening to the radio casually ruin everyone’s day. 😂

Apparently:

⛽ Gas is 87¢ higher per gallon than it was last Labor Day.
⛽ The national average is now over $4 a gallon.
⛽ And gas prices have officially reached historic highs.

So, if you’ve ever dreamed of making history while simultaneously emptying your bank account, today could be your day!

Give me a jingle—I’ll happily bring some of that premium-priced liquid gold right to your farm or ranch. Because nothing says “Happy Labor Day” quite like working all day just to afford the fuel. 😏

Five days ago, Sharpie added another year to his resume, brought the company average age up ever so slightly, but most importantly, reminded us that the younger generation can’t keep up with a work ethic like his any more. Happy birthday (a little late), super trucker!

Christen Voller’s birthday may already be over, but there’s still time this week to stop into the office, wish her a happy birthday, and thank her for keeping the average employee age around here from getting completely out of hand.
