A sublimation mug can look fantastic from one angle and still have a major problem.

If your design is too large for the mug press element, the heating element may not be able to apply enough heat across the entire image. This can result in uneven color and areas of the design that don’t transfer properly.

Before pressing, check the size of your design and make sure the heating element can fully cover the area you’re trying to sublimate.

A simple tip to remember: leave two fingers of space on either side to keep your design within the effective heating area.

Sublimating on glass can be challenging, but choosing the right design can help make the process easier.

One important thing to consider is the artwork itself. Designs with solid, darker colors tend to work better on glass than images with transparency, very light colors, or subtle shading.

Because of the characteristics of sublimation on glass, lighter colors may not appear as vibrant as they do on other substrates. Using stronger, more saturated colors can help your finished design stand out.

Before pressing, consider both your glass sublimation blank and the design you're putting on it. A good combination can make a noticeable difference in the final result.
