Special shout out to the National Weather Service Chanhassen Office, for hosting the latest North American Flight Control FAA Aircraft Dispatcher class.

The students had the benefit of a beautiful fall afternoon to participate in a weather balloon launch and learning about the tools they use as future aircraft dispatchers. 🍁⛈️

The lead forecaster Joe walked the students thru the process of how a Terminal Aerdrome forecast (TAF) is created and what tools the National Weather Service offers to support pilots and dispatchers decision making. 👩‍✈️🛫🤔

The next North American Flight Control FAA Aircraft Dispatcher refresher course is just two months away! 🛫

Our 3 day refresher program is designed to be inclusive of weather theory, in addition to the various tools dispatchers use in their weather analysis, NOTAMs, regulations, OpSpecs, navigation and instrument approach charts. 🗺️📚

Refresher training isn’t just about content knowledge, it’s also about using technology like you would in the industry. NAFC is proud to use AIR SUPPORT A/S PPS Flight Planning system, Airline grade CAE Flight Explorer and iPads with worldwide Jeppesen charts. 🖥️👩‍💻

I’ll never pass up the opportunity to talk about aviation, aircraft dispatch or airlines! 🛫🤓

Yesterday I had the opportunity to speak with the members of Cloud 1941 Social Club, located at Flying Cloud Airport in the twin cities metro area.

I spoke about the role of the aircraft dispatcher and at a high level about the complexity of airline operations. In my opinion, Aircraft dispatchers are one of the best kept secrets in the industry.

In my career, I’ve met airline pilots that were aware of flight dispatchers and that they “create dispatch releases” but not much more than that, so I’ll never pass up the opportunity to share more about the career field, what a typical day looks like for a dispatcher and how to earn your FAA Aircraft Dispatch Certificate. 👨‍✈️👩‍✈️

We’re only 12 days away from launching the first Flight Dispatch class from the new home of North American Flight Control! 🛫

From a complete upgrade of the classroom computers and monitors, to the class wide introduction of navigation charts on iPads at every desk, refresh of classroom materials to considering the best experience for students for snacks, coffee, tea, etc, I’m excited to debut our new location soon! 🖥️☕️

We look forward to showing off the new space with our partner airlines and business partners in the coming days!

Our latest class of North American Flight Control FAA Aircraft Dispatch students had the opportunity to visit the National Weather Service office in the Twin Cities! ⛈️🌆

We’re are so thankful for the office to host these special visits, because it shares the opportunity to understand the weather tools the NWS creates and distributes for aircraft dispatchers and pilots to use for making sound aeronautical decision making. 🤔🛫
