We had a wonderful afternoon discussing “What to Let Go of Without Losing Yourself,” a conversation about downsizing and decluttering with intention—making thoughtful choices about what to keep, donate, sell, or pass along.

The Kenwood Retirement Community in Minneapolis is putting those ideas into action this month with residents participating in the annual Lowry Hill Neighborhood Super Sale! On September 19, a wave of 100 yard sales across six area neighborhoods will bring the community together.

Residents are preparing to re-home items they no longer use, while raising funds for charity and connecting with their neighbors. It’s a wonderful example of how thoughtful decluttering can have a positive impact well beyond our own homes.

Downsizing isn’t simply about letting go. It’s about giving things a new home, supporting others, contributing to the community, and making space for what matters most.
