Landing a Boeing 767 on a 7000 foot ice runway in Norway. Steep glide slope, offset from the runway due to a mountain with continuous windshear as noted on the chart. One thrust reverser failed to deploy on landing rollout.

Here I am landing a 767 on an icy runway above the arctic circle in Norway. 4 degree offset glide slope. 7,000’ runway. Right thrust reverser refused to deploy. I think I cut off the adult language that ensued.

They should have named the T-38 the “Cougar.” She’s over 50, still hot and eats young men for lunch.

After an incredible 64 days, 22 hours, and 19 minutes, the epic journey ended on February 7, 1959, when the Cessna 172 finally touched down at McCarran Airfield. The flight set a world record for the longest flight duration by a manned, refuelled aircraft—a record that astonishingly stands till this day.

Glad to have been a part of this season, tagging and releasing a Great White.

They’re not gone yet, went 1 for 2 in close with the Howard crew. We had this one show up a little after 9am, which we tagged. Another showed up at 10:15 and did 2 circles around us, but never came back. Such an amazing fish, and just having them circle is jaw dropping enough. Video on my Instagram page.

This was also my last great white trip of the season. It was definitely one of our better white shark winters, as this is the first time in years that we raised one or caught one every trip but one.
There’s one that’s lived rent free in my head, daily, since January. We hooked Jaws herself, chased it all over, but lost it after a helluva battle. Killed me, but I’ll be waiting for her next winter. Now its going to be interesting to see where these tagged sharks go this spring and summer. Canada? Gulf of Mexico? Regardless, love it.

I’ve spent hundreds of hours in W-177. The warning area for military training. One cold night I broke 100+ windows in Myrtle Beach because the sonic booms bounced off an inversion layer. Coincidentally the balloon shoot down happened in what feels like my back yard. Great job to all involved in executing the mission. Frank flight, after Frank Luke, The Arizona Balloon Buster of WWI. Textbook. Audio below.
