A destination wedding has a very different planning timeline than a wedding at home ~ especially when you're coordinating a resort, wedding date, room block, deposits, flights and a whole group of guests.

So I put together a simple destination wedding timeline showing you what needs to happen and roughly when.

Picking the one with the prettiest wedding pictures online.

I get it. You see the gorgeous ceremony setup, the beach, the pool, the champagne tower… and think, Yep. That’s the one.

But hold on. 👀

Your resort is going to be home base for your entire wedding weekend.

So ask yourself:

🌴 Do you want relaxed or lively?
🥂 Upscale or laid-back?
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Will kids be coming?
🎉 Do your guests want nightlife or early mornings by the pool?
🍽️ How important are dining options?
💍 Do you want a huge resort or something more intimate?

Because the resort you choose affects so much more than your wedding photos.

It affects your guests’ experience, the overall vibe, how your wedding weekend feels ~ and honestly, how much you get to relax and enjoy it yourself.
