A day on the water exploring around Goodland and Marco Island. So many dolphins and osprey. We even saw a stingray leap out of the water a few times. Didn’t capture it on camera though. Beautiful day.

3 mile Flatwoods Trail. Nice walk. Easy trail of mixed mostly sun and some shade. Very narrow. We took hiking poles because I’ve run into a fairly large rattlesnake and just would rather surprise it with a pole than my foot.

Beautiful preserve. Definitely going back now that we know where to fish. Nice paddling trail with markers. Picture perfect day. Who wants to go fishing?! Or paddle and explore beyond the paddling trail?

Never gets old. Gators, manatee, snakes, turtles, & dolphins between Old 41 and 41. The further east you go, the more it looks like you are in subtropical paradise. Glimpses of old Florida before overdevelopment.

Yesterday was a good good day! Bonita Springs Fish Trap Bay, Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve, Sanibel Island, Picnic Island, and Lover’s Key by water. Salt, Sand, Sun ❤️. Sunset Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park

We tried Turner River from Highway 41 but there just wasn’t enough water. I even called to find out if there was enough water to kayak through. We drove down to the Everglades national Park visitor center in Everglades city and launched from there. We paddled to left-hand Turner river. We made it about 4 miles before there were too many downed trees to continue. Definitely a challenging trip with the little bit of breeze and currents against us. But love kayaking in the mangroves getting exercise & outside!

Day 3 & 4 of ASA Sailing courses. Learning to plot a safe passage, without electronics and then comparing with electronics. Circumnavigate Sanibel Island & Captiva. 🤣 Tom won’t do the world. That’s out of his comfort zone. Beautiful sunset & sunrise, then straight back to the marina. Gale force possibly? winds coming this afternoon!
