(413)

The Port of Boston owns and operates the Conley Terminal, Cruiseport Boston, Boston Autoport, and other Maritime properties in Charlestown, East Boston and South Boston. At the Port of Boston, Massport carries on New England's proud tradition as a world trade leader by offering regular shipping service to Europe, Asia, and elsewhere. High-tech queuing gates and a major terminal expansion program

help make the region's businesses even more competitive in global markets by speeding cargo to its final destination and efficiently connecting New England products with more than 100 international ports. The Port of Boston is the oldest continually active port in the Western Hemisphere, and New England’s maritime hub. The Port of Boston’s activity supports more than 50,000 jobs, and contributes more than $4.6 billion to the local, regional, and national economies through direct, indirect, and induced impact. Massport facilities are the port’s lifeblood for containerized cargo, vacation cruises and Boston’s commercial fishing fleet. The Port of Boston also hosts privately owned petroleum and liquefied natural gas terminals, which supply more than 90% of Massachusetts' heating and fossil fuel needs. Two ship repair yards, public and private ferry operations, marinas, and Coast Guard’s Sector Boston also call the port home. For leisure travelers, Massport's Cruiseport Boston is New England’s home port and connects cruise vacationers with premier tourist destinations along the North Atlantic, Canada, Bermuda, and the Caribbean and beyond. The Conley Terminal connects the 14 million of us who call New England home to the everyday goods we depend on. With the widening of the Panama Canal, we face new challenges in connecting our economy with global markets and far-flung resources. Our rapidly developing waterfront energizes the city with new shops, restaurants, powerful businesses and innovative start-ups, while our working port supports a fishing industry that adds both character and sustenance to our way of life.
