Picking up where I left off and overhead pressing a couch!

My day started off pretty normal. I helped customers with grills, patio furniture, and even two playset slides. Nothing crazy. Unfortunately, my wife quickly shut down my suggestion to attach one of the slides to the side of our deck. I really thought that idea had some potential.

Then my day took quite the turn.

I helped someone move a couch from their home to their neighbor's. I don't help with moves, and this wasn't for Heaps & Bounds, Bits & Pieces, but I thought it was too good not to share after the homeowner sent me these pictures.

The neighbor's home was right next door and up one flight of stairs. The problem was that the couch didn't fit through the door. While I'm sure we eventually could have squeezed it through the door, I figured we could use the quicker way. As I said multiple times throughout the process, I wasn't losing to a couch.

The plan was for me and the gentleman helping me to place one end of the couch on the balcony railing and having him lower it to me at the deck below. He lowered the couch, I caught it and carried it over to the steps, and he walked around from the other side of the building to help me carry it back inside. Believe it or not, that ended up being much easier than fighting with the doorway.

My favorite part was the neighbor below. She happened to look out her window while I was standing on her deck waiting to catch a couch. The look on her face as we walked by with it afterward was the perfect summary of what just happened.

All in all, a pretty eventful day. A few removals, a rejected playground expansion project at my house (permits are so tough to get approval for these days), and putting a couch in its place both literally and figuratively.

Now that things have settled at home (as settled as they can be with a newborn and two other kids), I'm back and accepting new jobs again! The time away with family was very much needed, especially as we adjust to being a family of five. But while I was away, the items didn't stop piling up, and I'm ready to get back to helping people clear some space.

Today was the perfect way to get back to work. I was able to help three different customers, each with their own unique mix of items to remove.

I want to thank everyone for their patience, support, and understanding while I took some time to focus on my family. The messages, well wishes, and referrals never stopped coming, and I'm incredibly grateful for all of it.

Whether it's a single item, furniture, appliances, construction debris, a garage cleanout, or something a little more unique, feel free to reach out. I'm looking forward to picking up right where I left off.

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes and congratulations on the birth of our daughter. Mommy and baby are both doing great, and we're enjoying this special time together as a family.

With that said, I'm excited to share that I've officially booked my first job back for Thursday, June 11th, and I'm now accepting jobs again for that date and beyond. While I've enjoyed my "paternity leave," it's time for me to get back to the grind!

I'm incredibly grateful for the support, patience, and trust you've shown both me and the business. I appreciate everyone who reached out, waited for availability, or simply cheered us on during this exciting chapter.

I'm looking forward to getting back out there, helping customers reclaim their space, and picking up right where I left off.

Baby is here! Our family has been blessed with a snuggly, beautiful, and healthy baby girl. My wife is also doing well after she once again proved that she was meant to be a mom. She's truly incredible.

As mentioned before, I will be taking a week or 2 off from removals, and I will post here once I resume scheduling. Thank you all for your support!

A quick update from Heaps & Bounds, Bits & Pieces.

Over the next week or two, I'll be stepping away from taking on new jobs as my wife and I get ready to welcome our third child into the world.

For anyone I've already spoken with about future projects, I'll be reaching out once I'm ready to get back to work and pick things up where we left off. I'll also make a post when I'm accepting new jobs again.

Before I hit pause for a bit, I just wanted to say thank you.

Over the last few weeks, I've had the opportunity to help with everything from construction debris and individual item pickups to hot tub removals, a shed, and everything in between. I've been fortunate to assist a variety of local businesses, including a funeral home, a downsizing specialist, several real estate agents, and multiple apartment communities, in addition to homeowners looking to declutter their spaces. I even assisted with ripping up old carpet and removing the wall paneling from someone's property. It's truly been an eventful month!

I've done my best to fit in as many jobs as possible before taking this time away, and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who reached out and trusted me to help clear their space.
