This capable team is available all winter to manage your service needs, including general boat maintenance, mechanical work, marine electrical service, boat repairs, carpentry, rigging, boat painting, and more. Take advantage of your boat’s ‘down time’ to tune up and upgrade for the summer boating season. Upgrade dated cabinetry. Enhance your engine’s performance with mechanical maintenance. Boyne Boat Yard is looking for experienced Marine Technicians to join our full-time, year-round service team in Boyne City, Michigan.

We are currently hiring at two experience levels:

**Marine Technician II | $5,000 Sign-On Bonus**

For experienced technicians who can independently diagnose issues, perform repairs, and troubleshoot a variety of marine systems. Pay ranges from $25–$34 per hour.

**Marine Technician III | $7,500 Sign-On Bonus**

For highly experienced technicians prepared to lead complex diagnostics, repairs, and installations. Pay ranges from $32–$40+ per hour.

Both positions offer comprehensive benefits, continuing education, a tool allowance, opportunities for advancement, and a dependable Monday–Friday schedule.

A big CONGRATULATIONS goes to Boyne Boat Yard Mechanical Shop Lead, Ryan, on being recognized by the American Boat & Yacht Council - ABYC as an Outstanding Technician!

For eight years, Ryan has set the standard for quality and efficiency at Boyne Boat Yard. Known for his clear communication and methodical approach, he’s the one the shop turns to for complex diagnostics and tough repairs.

He also plays a key role in developing younger technicians, offering hands-on guidance and instruction aligned with manufacturer and ABYC standards.

Ryan leads by example—approaching every job with precision, patience, and a commitment to getting it right the first time.

Ryan has training and certifications from Universal Technical Institute, with an initial focus on automotive technology before transitioning into the marine industry; ABYC Marine Systems Certification, ABYC Diesel Engines Certification, and Ilmor Platinum Dealer Certification.

Ryan is an integral member of our team, and we are proud to have him at Boyne Boat Yard!

We are wishing Marine Technician, Sam, a big CONGRATULATIONS on being recognized by the American Boat & Yacht Council - ABYC for their New Achiever Award! Sam has been with Boyne Boat Yard for about a year now, and in that time has shown a tremendous amount of skill and a strong willingness to learn.

Sam is a graduate of both the Boat Building School and the Marine Technology program at the Marine Trades Institute in Cedarville, Michigan; an ABYC Master Technician (Marine Systems, Marine Electrical, Diesel Engines, and Gasoline Engines); and has training in custom inboard engine installation and Awlgrip finishing systems.

Sam also just passed his CDL exam last week from the FCG Truck Driver Training School!

Sam is an extraordinary young man, and we are lucky to have him as part of our team. Thank you for all that you do!
