It's Food Waste Prevention Week and the theme is Food Heroes in your Neighborhood! I want to recognize everyone that has made it their mission to reduce what goes into our landfills by composting. By doing so you are extending the life of them, cutting methane emissions and giving our waste a second life while enriching our soils, so thank you! I forgot to post when we officially hit it but now with the help of all my fellow composters, together we have kept over 61,000 pounds of food waste and other materials out of our landfills and are actively helping rebuild our soils. Thank you all and remember to tell everyone about how easy it can be to make the change! See you at Produce in the Park Atlantic, Iowa for the final week!
