⚡ Co-Op to Co-Op: Lending a Helping Hand! ⚡

When Hurricane Isaias impacted Wiregrass Electric Cooperative in Hartford, Alabama, Clinton County Electric Cooperative was ready to step up and lend a helping hand! 💪⚡

A big thank-you to our linemen Justin Hubert and Kyle Wiegmann for answering the call and helping restore power to fellow co-op members in need. Your hard work and dedication make us proud!

As of 4:00 p.m. yesterday, power had been fully restored to all Wiregrass members! 🙌

We’re thankful our guys made it home safely and that the Wiregrass membership is back on with reliable electric service. This is what the cooperative spirit is all about — co-ops helping co-ops!

Three of our linemen had the opportunity to represent Clinton County Electric at the annual AIEC Lineman’s Safety Rodeo in Springfield on September 24 — and they did not disappoint!

Craig Benhoff, Braden Trame, and Jordan Foos competed in a variety of events that put their skills to the test, including climbing, rescue, equipment work, and safe work practices.

And they even brought home some hardware! 🏆 The team earned 3rd place in the Cut-Out Change Event!

We’re proud of Craig, Braden, and Jordan for representing Clinton County Electric and demonstrating the skill, teamwork, and commitment to safety that our linemen bring to the job every day.

Safety is always our top priority at Clinton County Electric! ⚡👷‍♂️

So, when the Clinton County Farm Bureau asked us to present our Live Line Demonstration during their “Ag in the Class” event at the Clinton County Fairgrounds, we were happy to say YES!

Our linemen had the opportunity to demonstrate electrical safety and share important lessons with several groups of local 6th-grade students from throughout the area.

Two of our linemen even spotted some familiar faces in the crowd! ❤️ Justin Hubert and Kyle Wiegmann’s daughters got the chance to see their dads in action and learn firsthand about the important work they do every day. How special is that?!

A big THANK YOU to the Clinton County Farm Bureau for inviting us and giving us the opportunity to educate local students about electrical safety!

Applications are now open for the 2027 Illinois Electric Cooperatives Memorial Scholarships!

This year, 20 scholarships worth $3,000 each will be awarded to deserving students in Illinois electric cooperative families. Whether you’re planning to attend college, a vocational or technical school, or pursue a career as a lineworker, there may be a scholarship opportunity for you!

📅 Most scholarship applications are due December 31, 2026.
📅 Lineworker Scholarship applications are due April 30, 2027.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage of the first responders, service members, and everyday Americans who stepped forward in the face of tragedy.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the strength, sacrifice, and unity shown on that day and in the days that followed.

🇺🇸 We will never forget.

Part-time Help Wanted - Mechanic's Assistant

Applications are being accepted until September 18th, 2026 for Mechanic’s Assistant.

Duties include: cleaning company vehicles, lawn mowing & trimming, driving a truck with a trailer attached (must be at least 16 years old with a valid drivers license), routine building maintenance, and general garage housekeeping.
