I want people to see the message that's being sent here with these shippers and brokers being held responsible. @ Secretary Sean Duffy is following thru with American First. We voted for this. Donald J. Trump is putting American workers first, with Sean Duffy implementing his plan.
In my opinion this industry needs to be unionized...
We need standards for shippers, receivers, drivers and brokers. Minimum contractual prices per mile need to be established that are not only tied to inflation but also fuel prices.
Enforcement of standards. Give structure that only a union can negotiate.
Cost of living raises tied to normal inflation.
Change the classification of commercial drivers back to skilled labor.
The lobbyists for the ATA have successfully lobbied to change a driver's status under the law from skilled labor to unskilled labor. The ATA (American Trucking Association) members: large trucking companies such as the Werners and the Swifts and the rest of their A list companies. These companies and ATA used the driver shortage narrative.
This safety problem we're facing is because the ATA planned and perpetuated takedown of owner operators and smaller companies.
People get swallowed up by companies that have real monopolies...
J.B. Hunt made the mistake of emailing everyone in their contacts for a 1.25 a mile load. It was a group email to carriers that were independent drivers, dispatchers and anyone on their list of approved carriers.
Nothing out of the ordinary just another load from J.B. Hunt 53 dry van. It started a boycott of them Total quality logistics and C H Robinson.
A single driver can't make a profit running for a 1.25 a mile.
3 to 4 drivers in one truck coming from California can make a profit if it's round trip loaded.
This can't be done week after week and for 1.25 a mile by one single truck owner. Unskilled unsafe slaves are driving as fast as they can. Its slave labor.
Its modern day slave labor, when you look at what's happened.
Companies from Amazon to werner have a foreign driver in a lease truck, pulling their trailer.
The ATA, they lobbied for it.
This is the equivalent of Phillip Morris hiding the cancer results and advertising to the young generation.
Its a scandal what the ATA has lobbied for and perpetuated, for profit over safety, driven at the hands of its members.
These companies should be held responsible, the American Trucking Association ((ATA)..
