WE WON!!!

Standard Cartage is honored to have received a Rigging Job of the Year award at the Specialized Carriers and Riggers Association annual conference held last week in Washington, DC.

The presented project was to unload, move, and set (3) 90,000 LBS boilers at O'Hare Airport, using an innovative skidding and air-skate system.

A big shout-out to our crew, specifically Mark, John, Billy, Tony, Terry, and Gary, along with all the others that pitched in behind the scenes. They efficiently completed this project without any injuries or incidents.

At the SC&RA Annual Conference, eight companies took home the big prize for the crane, rigging and specialized transportation industry.

From a few years back, was hired to assist in the assembly of a CAT Generator on the roof of a downtown Chicago Development.

The generator components were set on the roof before structural modifications to handle the full assembled generator were complete. Once the modifications were complete, we mobilized Hydraulic Mini-Jacks on stands to move, set, and assemble the generator with electricians and generator technicians.

A Few weeks ago, we showed off a video of us laying over a hydroforming press using our hydraulic Gantries.

Check out this cool job for one of our data-center clients.

Using our hydraulic gantry and skidding system, we were able to lift a 20,000 LBS transformer up to a 25'H Doorway. Due to the site layout and underground utilities, the crane reach would have been extraordinary. We proposed this solution as a cost saving alternative, so that our customer wouldn't have to build a temporary platform outside the doorway. We worked directly with our customer's safety personnel to satisfy all of their concerns and requirements.

.....And that's a wrap.

just finished our work on a ground up data-center build in the Chicagoland area.

We handled off-site storage, transportation, unloading and setting for (7) 3MW Generators and various other transformers, meters, and vista switches.

We also handled unloading and setting (7) 65,000 LBS Pre-fabricated UPS containers, and (12) 40,000 LBS Interior electrical Skids.

Successful jobs like this don't happen by accident. Safe ex*****on only happens with great planning, and a team dedicated to doing it the right way.

Thanks to the Operators and Riggers for taking the time to do the job the right way. And thanks to Anker Trucking, and Central Contractor's Service for partnering with us to make this job a success.

We were recently hired by a local metal spinning manufacturer to load up a 156,000 LBS Hydroforming Press. After removing the press crown, we lifted the press out of a 8' deep pit and laid it over with our Hydraulic Gantry system, we then moved through the plant and loaded out with the same gantries at 140,000 LBS shipping weight.

The original rigger for this work got cold feet, and we were able to review the project, plan mobilize to Ohio in short order, keeping our customer's transportation schedule on track.

Standard was hired by a regional laboratory to unload, move and set a 50,000 LBS Cryogenic Cold box.

We used hydraulic telescoping gantries to unload the coldbox, then skated the vessel around the lab.

The Cold box got final set in a 20'L x 20'W x 12'D Pit. To set the vessel in place, we used Hydraulic telescoping gantries with power travel and side-shift.

When its , you know it was done right, and our customer was pleased with our performance.

Standard prides itself on finding solutions to the toughest rigging and moving challenges.

This customer wanted us to unload and set a 12'6"H Packaged generator beneath a 16'H pipe bridge, and Oh, by the way, you must handle it from overhead.

We knew we would need to use a crane alternative. We decided to pair up our side-shift system with our hydraulic gantries, and our experienced riggers made the job look easy.

Factory to Foundation

This customer sent us a 50,000 LBS generator to receive and warehouse pre-job for an upcoming project. Customers trust us with their BIG equipment. 💪

Once the job-site was ready, we delivered the 14'-2"H Load to the job-site downtown. 😰

We performed a route survey to ensure there would be no delay on the delivery.📏

We then unloaded it on-site and set in place using one of our crane alternatives. 👏

Standard always prides itself on finding a better solution. For this job, we used our existing counterweight beam in a double configuration to unload and set (4) 16,000 LBS transformers inside a second floor equipment doorway.

The picture on the left shows our solution, vs. the original method shown on the right.

Not only did we save our customer the cost of the installation and disassembly of the scaffolding, we also saved them 2 weeks on their schedule, since the scaffolding blocked access to the only dock they had for construction.
