EAA 431 Chapter Members. We need a few people to step up and join the food committee to start learning the behind the scenes activities that need to happen to ensure a successful fly in. Things like food ordering, scheduling vendors, inventory of existing supplies, etc. Please consider joining this committee to start transferring the knowledge of some of our long time chapter members.

There is a meeting tonight at 6pm in the chapter building. If you are interested, please feel free to attend. If you can’t make it tonight but are still interested, comment here and a board member will be in touch.

Thank you!

Rich Pember
EAA 431 President

Our friends at Pistons and Props need volunteers. If you’re free 8/28-8/30 considering volunteering for a shift. Let’s help bring back a successful airshow to the area.

Pistons and Props Airshow 2026 is just 4 weeks away—and we are in need of more volunteers to make this event!

Our team has spent five years building this event for Janesville and the region. Now we’re asking you to give just one 5‑hour shift to help us get across the finish line. Greatest need- all Sunday shifts and parking.

Half‑day and full‑day shifts are available all three days, with roles ranging from general event support to specific areas like gates, guest services, and kids activities. Not sure where to plug in? Choose “General Volunteer” and we’ll place you where you’re needed most.

As a thank you, volunteers receive:
-A Pistons & Props volunteer shirt
-Food while you’re on duty
-A free airshow pass for the day you're not working.

If you’re part of a nonprofit, church, or community group, we’re also seeking groups in exchange for a donation to your group—this is a great way to serve together and help keep a major community event alive.

👉 Sign up now: pistonsprops.com/get-involved/volunteer
Spots are limited and fill on a first‑come basis, so please pick your shifts today.

If you can’t volunteer but know someone who might, please share this post. Five hours of your time helps preserve aviation and automotive heritage, provide educational experiences for youth, support local veterans, and create an unforgettable weekend for thousands of families.

This week at Brodhead EAA 431. Our next board meeting is Monday 8/3 at 6pm. Anyone with business before the board is welcome to attend.

***Our next Chapter Gathering is Tuesday August 4th at 7pm with a meal to those who want to show up early at 6pm. This months guest speaker is Peter Egan who will talk about his 6-week, 7,000 mile cross country journey in a 1945 J-3 Cub in 1987.

The Pietenpol-Hatz Fly-in is behind us. Thank you to all who volunteered their time and effort to make this fly in successful! It never ceases to amaze me how this Chapter pulls together and works hard to make sure all of our visitors have a great experience during their stay in Brodhead.

I can't begin to tell you how many times I had attendees tell me that coming to Brodhead was far better than going to Oshkosh. This event has gained a reputation for being family friendly, laid back, and welcoming and that is due to the efforts of every Chapter 431 member who contributed their time and resources. Catching up with old friends, making new friends, and seeing the kids enjoy themselves made all the hard work worthwhile. Please take some time to enjoy that success and know that your contributions are truly appreciated!
