Rachel Meyer was the absolute sweetest woman you could ever meet. I was blessed to visit with her on multiple occasions. My wife and I spent several days with her and Buz; the BrushPile Fishing family invited us out for a large concert they host each year.
I knew Rachel was battling a disease because Buz told me about it. Otherwise, I would have never known. She treated us like family, invited us into her home, cooked for us, and her and Julie spent good time together visiting that weekend. On more than one instance I spent the night with Rachel and Buz, whether to work on the Brushpile boat, or to attend the Veterans tournament we worked to start (which is how I met them years ago).
Rachel was truly a special person. I remember thinking several times about all she was going through over the years, and despite that, I never saw anything but a warm smile and loving, welcoming heart. She was such a strong woman with the warmest spirit you could find.
Rachel fought so hard for many years. It was heartbreaking to learn the disease had turned, but I am grateful she ascended to heaven and is no longer in pain.
I will never forget her strength, love, and hospitality! She will be truly missed. Please join me in praying for Buz and the Meyer family as they mourn the loss of such a truly loving, beautiful person.
May God Bless you, Rachel! You can rest easy in the arms of our Lord now.
