Rachel Meyer was the absolute sweetest woman you could ever meet. I was blessed to visit with her on multiple occasions. My wife and I spent several days with her and Buz; the BrushPile Fishing family invited us out for a large concert they host each year.

I knew Rachel was battling a disease because Buz told me about it. Otherwise, I would have never known. She treated us like family, invited us into her home, cooked for us, and her and Julie spent good time together visiting that weekend. On more than one instance I spent the night with Rachel and Buz, whether to work on the Brushpile boat, or to attend the Veterans tournament we worked to start (which is how I met them years ago).

Rachel was truly a special person. I remember thinking several times about all she was going through over the years, and despite that, I never saw anything but a warm smile and loving, welcoming heart. She was such a strong woman with the warmest spirit you could find.

Rachel fought so hard for many years. It was heartbreaking to learn the disease had turned, but I am grateful she ascended to heaven and is no longer in pain.

I will never forget her strength, love, and hospitality! She will be truly missed. Please join me in praying for Buz and the Meyer family as they mourn the loss of such a truly loving, beautiful person.

May God Bless you, Rachel! You can rest easy in the arms of our Lord now.

Please keep Sarah Clifton Strong and her family in your prayers. I want to thank everyone who contributed earlier this year to help them put up the absolute best fight they could against this horrible disease. Sending our Love and Prayers to Chad and his family during this time.

Ms Sarah passed away peacefully this morning.
She fought hard, now she can rest. The family loves each one of you for all the love and support you showed my family during this time. I really don't know what else to say except love yall and we appreciate yall!

I have two brand new X'pand 4k units that just arrived. $2500 each plus shipping. 17.4" units ... Nice sweet spot between 16" and 19". These will be available through the week. If they ain't gone Friday, they are both going on my Bass Cat - these are sweet!

These can be customized for your graph's aspect ratio.... No black areas or misaligned touch! Perfect match if you run the new 9000 series Garmin or want to step up.

Send a message or email me if you are interested. These come with everything you need to get going.

Tanner J England is a great friend and amazing customer. Kind of guy small businesses dream of coming along. Provides honest feedback, passionate as I am, and he's a freaking stick on the water! Some great shots of the GOE X'pand in action to boot.

Shout out to a good one. I sure appreciate your support, brother!

Another one wrapped up. This 8616 repair came to us from RJ's Outboard Sales and Service in Brandon, MS.

I open the box and see a quote from the same shop in Maine I mentioned deceiving customers before.... the quote was for $500-$1200 from May of this year. Spoke with RJ today and shipped the unit in after receiving the quote..... then was told it would actually be $2000 to repair. Notice a pattern?

To top things off, he was told it would cost $200 to just return it. I got RJ taken care of for half price. Please don't get taken. The economy is crazy enough these days.

Still have inventory of the 16" and 19" X'pand units. You can message me directly or order online.

X'pand 4k arriving weekly starting next week. I have limited quantity of 17" and substantial 19" quantities on the way. Some changes with these units over prior:

👻 New ghost grey exterior finish. This will help mitigate heat absorption from the sun. They look awesome!

📺 Ability to change resolution manually. Enjoy full image with no touch alignment issues or black bars if you have 8610, HDS, or 1243 units with varying aspect ratio. I can still program existing units to accommodate your aspect ratio and resolution.

Additional announcements coming soon. Working hard within the industry to continue improving what I offer!

Posting this with the intent of helping fellow anglers NOT have to deal with the same experiences others have.

Roland Rebstock messaged me about an 8612. He sent his unit off to a place in the northeast after clicking a Facebook advertisement offering 8612 screen replacement and receiving a quote of $450-$750. When the company got his unit, they told him it was actually $1620. He managed to stop the repair and get the unit back. A few days later, we warrantied that out with Garmin for screen delamination, which has a service bulletin open. He paid me $15 to ship his boat frame and trim tabs back. Problem solved.

Aiden Hamblin just messaged me because the same company did this to him as well. After seeing an advertisement for 126 screen replacement he received a quote for $650-$900 and he sent it in. Received an email that he was actually being charged $1500 for the screen replacement. He was understandably upset because the price was the same as a good refurb and more than double the cost of a Garmin exchange. He's a college angler!

Please be careful. I am angler first and immersed in this business. I hate to see this. There are three of us doing these repairs.... and more than enough work for all of us. Two of us offer transparent pricing. What is being done here is definitely not transparent.

Correcting my earlier post.... because the root cause is not a fold down mount... it's the design of the fish finder, and specifically the Garmin units made before 2021. The glue edge on these is 2mm or so... very thin. The UV coating on them was also wrapped around the back. This makes it extremely difficult to adhere to. They have made improvements to stop this, like adding screws to the ultra 2 line that hold the LCD to the frame, and changing the finish on the back of the glass.

Garmin knows this and has open service bulletins. They typically help if it happens.

Other brands use a much larger glue area.... more than double Garmin. I usually have to cut out the screens when I replace them to avoid damaging the frames. I have yet to see a screen fall out of either Lowrance or Humminbird. However, they both have other issues.

Not a shot at Garmin - I run them exclusively. My goal here is to make sure you understand what risks you face with electronics you choose for your boat. Any of the new Garmin units should be fine given the changes made. If you have older stuff, use this info as you see fit.

A couple of updates...

🚽93sv screens are gone. The last one I had the LCD was a no go. I will look for more as time allows.

🤳Call Garmin first and always for repairs. They have started exchanging them for a reasonable fee for refurbished units. This seems random... but definitely worth a shot for a new unit!

📺4k enroute. I have 17.5" units coming in. One is still available (they sold quick) for $2599..... 4k 19" units will be here in a few weeks and run $2799. The finish will be a unique gray/black to distinguish them from the 1080 line. Welcome to the X'pand 2 line!

Last - if you have a unit that has a different aspect ratio, such as an HDS 12, 8610, or 1243, just let me know. I can manually adjust so it is 1:1 with your unit. This will be a menu option in all 4k units and future production runs. Just pick your preferred aspect ratio in the menu.

I still have large inventory of 19" and 16" 1080 units. Unless you are running a 9000 series graph and want to keep up with the Jones', the 1080p is solid and my recommendation. Why? Check out this photo of the X'pand 19" with an LVS 32 looking way out. Hard to complain about that. Shout out to my awesome customers like Hunter Klaiber who keep the shots coming!!!
