EPCOT (during a non-festival day) hot takes -

▫️With EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival starting later this week, the crowds were definitely lower during the day. We were even able to get a table at La Cava with minimal wait in the afternoon.
▫️We entered through the International Gateway, started rides in the World Nature section (making sure Lightning Lane time slots were close together for Living With The Land and Soarin’), then rode in the World Discovery (making sure times for Test Track and Guardians were close together). This really helped us prevent backtracking.
▫️Standby Skipper was able to get us Frozen Ever After in about an hour, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in about 90 minutes. Always a great investment.
▫️Staying at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn made it very convenient to stop back at the resort for a quick freshen up before our evening reservation.
▫️Geo-82 is a great adult lounge option and they have an off-menu Brûlée Banana Espresso Martini.
▫️Extended Hours for Deluxe Guests took place from 9-11pm (happens on various days in various parks) but actually made the park busier than it was during the day so we didn’t stay long. They have very limited food and shopping so make sure to finish that before the park closes.

Overall, the lighter crowds were super enjoyable although seeing all of the signage and kiosks for the food & wine festival gave me major FOMO. 🥂

🎃 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party hot takes -

▫️You can get into Magic Kingdom as early as 4pm with your party ticket. If you have a regular day ticket, you will need to exit by 6pm. They have wristbands to identify party guests. Party goes until midnight.
▫️The Halloween party officially begins at 7pm. There are trick-or-treat trails, rare character meet-and-greets, lower wait times, party-specific food, special parade, Halloween fireworks, and Hocus Pocus castle stage show.
▫️The Headless Horseman will also ride ahead of the parade unless the ground is wet. He did not ride for the 8:15pm parade, but did for the 11:15pm parade.
▫️Trick-or-treat trails were congested until the end of the night so pack your patience. There is a special party map to know where they are, and as well as signage. There are allergy-friendly snacks available.
▫️We rode TRON with a 15-minute wait around 6:15pm. The sign said 35 minutes but we got lucky.
▫️Doombuggy Dumplings from Sleepy Hollow were so good, but did have a kick. The party chicken and waffles dish from there was also good, but incredibly spicy. The party mini corn dogs from Casey’s Corner were good too!
▫️The crowd lightened up after the fireworks. We were able to get a spot near Crystal Palace a few minutes before they began.
▫️We did the second parade and got a viewing spot at the top of Main Street within ten minutes of the parade. Most people stayed seated which was really nice.
▫️The wait for our resort bus to arrive and the traffic we were caught in trying to get back was higher than normal, so just be prepared.
▫️Some of the party elements (lights, music, villains) can be eerie, so little kids who spooky easily might have a problem.

Overall we had an awesome time! And the costumes we saw from party goers were 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

💫 Universal Epic Universe hot takes -

▫️This park is aesthetically the most gorgeous park I have been in. Just wow.
▫️Very little shade so make sure to plan breaks.
▫️If you have little kids (under 5), there is not much for them to do so plan on walking around more while other family members ride. There are also family waiting rooms at each ride although very small.
▫️I wouldn’t bother with Dragon Racer’s Rally or Yoshi’s Adventure unless it was a super low wait time.
▫️Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experience was scary (so be prepared if bringing kids) but also one of the most unique rides. Their use of animatronics is impressive. Most similar to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
▫️Hiccup’s Wing Gliders is a longer version of Slinky Dog Dash.
▫️Access to the portals closes when the park closes (currently 9pm) so make sure you wander after dark for the full effect before then.
▫️The gift shops only have Epic Universe and the portal themed merchandise right now, no generic Universal Orlando Resort merch. Keep in mind as you shop in the other parks and CityWalk.
▫️Arrive for shows (Le Cirque Arcanus + The Untrainable Dragon) about 20 minutes before they begin, otherwise they may fill up by the time you arrive.
▫️ The night show, Celestial Goodnight, is a nice way to end the day and about ten minutes along. Mostly water fountain features with light fireworks. However if you miss it, don’t beat yourself up.

Overall really great experience. The park is so pretty and you can tell a lot of work went into it. 🥂

🌋 Universal Volcano Bay hot takes -

▫️So much seating. It’s all in sand though unless you rent a cabana.
▫️Bring your own towel or be prepared to rent one. $7 per towel.
▫️Locker rental was about $20. Worth the expense so I didn’t have to worry about my stuff getting stolen.
▫️If you rent a cabana, the front ones will be closest to their wave pool. The back ones will be closest to the water slides. There are many different sized cabanas and premium seating upgrades.
▫️The afternoon rain storm drove out a ton of people. I was able to do every unique slide in less than two hours.
▫️There are two lazy rivers. The one with the life vests is not leisurely. If you want leisure, you want the one with the raft.
▫️There is no parking at Volcano Bay. Guests park at CityWalk then shuttle over. There are two hotels with walking access to Volcano Bay.
▫️All ages will have something to do. Really nice kids area for the little.

Overall a very fun experience. Would recommend!! 🥂
