Just around and about this beautiful city Burlington.Any body noticed the white tree sculpture along main street?
Ofcourse I did and guess what, this is what I found!!
The new white tree sculpture on is called “Lakebone,” created by local artist Nancy Winship Milliken Studio.
Suspended horizontally above a pollinator garden, the 48-foot artwork marks the completion of the city’s multi-year Main Street construction project and serves as a tribute to local ecology and history.
The horizontal placement honors Burlington’s 19th-century history as a major timber hub, mimicking logs and lumber that floated down rivers and across Lake Champlain. It recalls the natural driftwood barriers in Vermont's riparian forests that help slow and manage floodwaters. Its positioned above a newly planted pollinator garden (designed with Bee the Change), it nods to modern urban stormwater management and ecological care.
