🚨 TRUCKING NEWS: MAJOR CDL CRACKDOWN ANNOUNCED MONDAY 🚛🇺🇸

The Trump administration announced a sweeping crackdown on fraudulent CDL training operations this Monday, with federal officials moving to shut down 270 trucking schools nationwide.

According to the Department of Transportation, 110 schools were removed from the federal Training Provider Registry over English-proficiency violations involving more than 5,000 drivers, while another 160 schools were targeted over training-facility and other compliance issues.

🔧 Brake Safety Week hits August 23-29 across the US, Canada, and Mexico, and this year CVSA inspectors are zeroing in on one thing: brake drums and rotors.

Last year the numbers told the story. 15,175 trucks inspected, 2,296 placed out of service for brake violations, a 15.1% OOS rate. Drums and rotors alone caused 113 violations, including 54 rusted rotors and 34 broken drums. The single biggest reason trucks got parked was the 20% defective brakes rule. If just two wheel ends on a standard 18-wheeler show a critical defect, the entire rig gets grounded on the spot.

That is why the walk-around matters. A flashlight, five minutes, and a trained eye can catch a scored drum or a cracked rotor before an inspector does it for you.

3 years in dispatch, and Kristijan still shows up every single day with the same mindset: stay calm, communicate clearly, and get it done as a team. 🚛

🚨 766 unsafe drivers and vehicles. Off the road. In just 3 days.

That's the result of the second wave of Operation Highway Shield, a joint DOT/DHS crackdown that swept through Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Ohio this summer. Inspectors and officers detained 51 individuals in the country illegally, including 21 drivers running non-domiciled CDLs, and pulled 766 unsafe drivers and vehicles out of service.

This isn't a one-off. Since the April 2025 executive order on trucking-industry integrity, enforcement nationwide has resulted in roughly 26,000 English-proficiency out-of-service orders and 30,000+ CDLs revoked. The message from DOT and DHS is clear: unqualified drivers behind the wheel of an 80,000-lb rig put every single one of us at risk.
