The trucking industry relies on safe drivers to complete deliveries. Although drivers are foundation of the system, they rely on customer service and dispatch team members who are also a key component for success!
A customer service representative's job is to schedule loads to pick up and deliver loads to customers or vendors.
Duties & Responsibilities
Customer service representatives have numerous other responsibilities as well. They can vary slightly from company to company.
• Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads as a Company, combining shipments based on their most cost-effective routes (minimizing toll usage) and timeline.
• Determine the best delivery methods and negotiate rates directly with vendors, customers, and get the necessary documents.
Education, Training & Certification
• Requires at least a high school diploma or GED, but an associate or bachelor's degree is a plus.
• One to three years' related experience. Prior logistics experience is preferred.
