Dorchester County has a way of coming together that is hard to put into words. When our neighbors need us, people show up, and this past Friday was a beautiful example of that. The love and support surrounding Alivea and her family was overwhelming in the best way, and we are so grateful for everyone who helped make the day so meaningful
A huge thank you to everyone who played a part, whether you donated, helped set up tables and chairs, directed and parked vehicles, made desserts, picked up or delivered food, or simply asked, “What can I do?” Every single gesture made a difference
Because of everyone’s generosity, we were able to cover the expenses of the celebration and, even more importantly, have money left over to give directly to Alivea’s family. That means so much to us, and we hope it provides even a small bit of comfort and support during such a difficult time
We would also like to give a special thank you to ES Hubbert, Marshall Property Management, Emily’s Produce, Su***de Bridge Restaurant, the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Department, Choptank Oyster Company, Chick-fil-A, Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, Thomas Funeral Home, the Schulze Family, the Wooten Family, and the Hughes Family for your generosity and support
And a very special thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to drive the shuttle buses and help get family and friends where they needed to be. That was such an important part of the day, and we truly appreciate you
Dorchester County showed up in every way possible for Alivea and her family. We are so thankful to be part of a community that cares so deeply❤️
