Dorchester County is nearing completion of its Strategic Plan, and we want to hear from you!

Upcoming community meetings will give residents and local employers an opportunity to review the priorities and goals identified so far, share what they believe is still needed, and provide ideas that can help strengthen the County’s path forward.

This process has already included community meetings, surveys, and interviews, and these upcoming forums are another important opportunity to make your voice heard.

Your input matters. The final Strategic Plan will help guide Dorchester County’s priorities and direction for the years ahead.

Good News!...the repair work on the CGE Runway went per-plan and Runway 16/34 will er-open at 1200L today! thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time.

Heads up!...the CGE Airport Runway 16/34 will be closed on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 0700L to 1200L for some minor runway repair work. If the work is completed prior to 1200L, we will cancel teh NOTAM and re-open sooner, so stay tuned for updates. A formal bulletin will be issued this week and we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during this time.

Noise Advisory – Inshore Flight Testing, Potential Supersonic Flights March 19-20, 2026

Communities surrounding Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Webster Outlying Field, Smith Island, Maryland and residents of the Northern Neck of Virginia are advised of an inshore weapons separation testing event Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. This test flight has the potential to generate a sonic boom that could be heard and potential felt throughout the surrounding communities.

As with all operations, NAS Patuxent River takes precautions to lessen the impact of testing and training activities on the community. For more information call 1-866-819-9028.
