Please pay close attention to the marked road closures and detour route.

🚗 Parking Information:
Free public parking will be available in the campground lot at the base of Bagnell Dam. There will be no shuttle service from this lot.

Paid parking is cashless and will be available at the Early Childhood Center and Heritage School, with shuttle service provided from those paid lots.

Come out and enjoy the action from land, support the racers, visit the vendors, and hear the ROAR of the Offshore!

It was a terrible tragedy about that young man fatally drowning under a low head dam on the Niangua. Several asked how it happens. The phenomena is actually called a "Drowning Machine." Water pouring over a dam creates a powerful circular current. The top current pushes downstream, but the bottom current reverses and pulls back toward the dam, trapping objects in a continuous loop. The aeration also reduces buoyancy.
