Cutting Red Tape = Creating Opportunities for Pennsylvania Trucking!

Trucking is one of the most heavily regulated industries in the country, and unnecessary red tape can create significant costs and challenges, especially for small businesses.

PMTA was proud to participate in U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick's Pennsylvania Red Tape Dialogues at Temple University on October 15, alongside several PMTA member companies and other transportation and logistics leaders.

Our workgroup came prepared with 36 recommendations for legislative, regulatory, and administrative reforms, then worked together to identify the industry's top priorities.

👏 Special thanks to Jeff Jackson, President of Penske Logistics, for presenting our workgroup's recommendations to Sen. McCormick and former Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, and to all the PMTA members who contributed to this important discussion, including Gregg Troian of PGT Trucking, Inc., Pete Latta of A. Duie Pyle, Ryan Garber of GFI Transport, Kellie Heffley of Horwith Trucks Inc., John Moran of Moran Logistics, and Brian Wanner of Peters Brothers Inc.!

Reducing unnecessary red tape doesn't mean compromising safety. It means removing barriers that make it harder for trucking businesses to operate, compete, and grow.

We're looking forward to seeing these conversations turn into meaningful action!

Lawsuit abuse doesn't just hurt businesses. It affects all of us.

Pennsylvania trucking companies are facing rising insurance and litigation costs that make it harder to invest in equipment, hire employees, and keep freight moving affordably. Ultimately, those costs are passed along to consumers in the prices we pay for everyday goods.

PMTA President & CEO Rebecca Oyler joined leaders from across Pennsylvania in Philadelphia last week to call attention to lawsuit abuse, venue shopping, and the need for a fair and balanced civil justice system.

Fair courts matter. So does keeping Pennsylvania businesses competitive and everyday goods affordable.
