💖🚛 What do Dolly Parton and the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association have in common?

Today, the PMTA team got into the spirit of Dolly Parton, and it turns out, there’s more of a connection to trucking than you might think! ✨

Dolly didn’t just become a country music legend. She also put her name behind a truck stop in Tennessee. When asked why she wanted to be part of the truck stop, Dolly said, “I’ve spent my whole life traveling down the road.”

We think that says a lot.

At PMTA, we know the road is more than pavement. It’s where our members work, build businesses, deliver essential goods, and keep Pennsylvania moving. And just like Dolly, we have a deep appreciation for the people who spend their lives traveling down the road.

So today, we’re celebrating Dolly and celebrating the trucking industry she was proud to be a part of. 🫶

A new connection is coming to help keep traffic moving in the Harrisburg area.​

The PA Turnpike is planning two new access ramps connecting PA 283 directly to the Turnpike in Dauphin County. The proposed ramps would give drivers an alternative to the I-283/PA 283 interchange, helping improve safety, reduce congestion and provide a more direct, reliable connection.

Brake Safety Week is here. A few minutes before you roll can prevent a violation — or something much worse. Check it. Fix it. Drive safe.

🚨 It's Brake Safety Week!

August 23–29, 2026 is CVSA Brake Safety Week, and inspectors across North America will take a closer look at CMV brake systems — with special attention on brake drums and air disc brake rotors.

Before you roll, check:

➡️ Brake hoses & tubing — chafing, kinks, cracks, leaks
➡️ Pushrod travel & slack adjusters — excessive travel or improper operation
➡️ Brake linings, pads & shoes — excessive wear or damage
➡️ Drums & rotors — cracks, excessive wear or structural damage
➡️ Air system — listen for leaks and verify proper operation

Find it before the inspector does. Fix it before you get on the road.

PMTA was proud to advocate for stronger oversight of CDL training in Pennsylvania, and we’re pleased to see those efforts result in a new law.

A CDL should mean something — that a professional driver has met consistent standards and is prepared to operate safely on our roadways. This new law strengthens accountability for training providers and helps protect responsible carriers, professional drivers, and everyone who shares the road.

Pennsylvania regulators can now impose civil penalties of up to $25,000 on unlicensed commercial driver training schools under a new state law.

🏆 WHAT A WEEK FOR TEAM PENNSYLVANIA! 🏆

What an incredible showing by our Pennsylvania drivers at the National Truck Driving Championships! 🇺🇸🚛

We are incredibly proud of all nine members of the PA Team who represented Pennsylvania on the national stage. Each driver put in countless hours of preparation, practice and dedication to get here — and they represented our state and our industry with excellence.

Today, three of our nine drivers advanced to the Finals, and we couldn’t be more proud!

🥈 Congratulations to Bryan Krol of Martin Brower for placing 2nd in the 4-Axle Division! What an outstanding accomplishment at the national level!

And congratulations to all three PA finalists for making it this far and competing among the best professional truck drivers in the country. 👏

A huge thank you to the companies who support these incredible drivers — for giving them the time to practice, prepare and travel to compete. Your investment in your drivers and in the trucking industry makes opportunities like this possible.

And, of course, thank you to the families, friends and supporters who stand behind these drivers throughout the long hours of practice and competition. ❤️
