HRRC SAFETY BRIEF:

With the recent snowstorm, the Housatonic Railroad would like to gently remind our neighbors that hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, or sledding on railroad property is strictly prohibited and can also be very dangerous! Our trains do not run on a strict schedule, so just because you have not seen a train go by at that time in the past does not mean it will not be coming while you are there. Because of their weight and momentum, trains take much longer to stop than cars or trucks and the engineer may not be able to stop in time once they see you on the tracks.

Stay safe, stay warm, and enjoy the snow responsibly.
