Boater Safety Week is the perfect time to get certified and stay safe on the water 🌊⚓

Did you know that in New York State, all operators of motorized boats are now required to complete a Boater Safety Course? 🚤📚

Whether you’re brand new to boating or have years of experience, safety education helps make every day on the water safer for you, your passengers, and everyone around you.

This week is National Safe Boating Week and today we’re highlighting a small device that makes a huge difference — your ECOS (Engine Cut-Off Switch).

If the operator is unexpectedly thrown from the helm, the ECOS shuts the engine off immediately, helping prevent runaway boats and serious injuries. It’s simple, effective, and could save lives.

Before every departure, make sure your ECOS is attached and ready to go. Safe boating starts with smart habits. ⚓🦺☀️

☀️ Fun in the sun is exactly what this member is in for today! Launching out of our Freedom Boat Club Keuka Lake location, aboard a beautiful Avalon tritoon on a perfect 80° and sunny day.

Before departure, we reviewed all onboard safety equipment and made sure her ECOS was properly attached before assisting her off the dock. Safety first, then lake life 🌊🛥️
