In genau zwei Wochen ist es soweit! 🙌
Die meisten Pilotinnen und Piloten mögen die Idee, gemeinsam zu fliegen. Nur wenige verstehen jedoch, wo die Grenze zwischen gemeinsamen Vereins- oder Gruppenflügen und engem Formationsflug liegt oder wie schnell diese Grenze überschritten werden kann und aus einem entspannten Flug ein beängstigendes Erlebnis wird.
Am 14. Juli wird Andrew Mills, militärischer Ausbilder und Prüfer für engen Formationsflug sowie Chief Pilot Aviation Germany, diese Grenze klar aufzeigen. Mit mehreren Flugzeugen auf derselben Route zu fliegen, ist unkompliziert, macht Spaß und kann sicher durchgeführt werden – vorausgesetzt, die Flüge werden sorgfältig geplant und gebrieft.
Enger Formationsflug hingegen ist eine eigenständige fliegerische Disziplin, die spezielles Training, regelmäßige fliegerische Praxis und ein konsequentes Briefing erfordert. Die meisten Pilotinnen und Piloten haben ein solches Verfahren noch nie kennengelernt. Mit der richtigen Schulung und dem passenden Mindset ist der Zugang dazu jedoch überraschend gut möglich.
In dieser Session bekommt Ihr einen bewährten Briefing-Rahmen sowie einige praktische Werkzeuge mit, die Ihr sofort anwenden könnt, damit Eure Gruppenflüge sicher, strukturiert und wirklich angenehm verlaufen.
Und für alle, die noch einen Schritt weitergehen möchten: Für das Jahr 2027 planen Wingman Aviation und Air Lovers ein Formationsflugprogramm für Pilotinnen und Piloten, die motiviert sind, sich ausbilden zu lassen, ihre fliegerischen Kenntnisse aufzufrischen und sich professionell auf den Formationsflug vorzubereiten.

Most pilots love the idea of flying together. Few understand where the line between club fly-outs and close formation flying is, or how quickly it can be crossed and turn into a terrifying situation.
On 14 July, Andrew Mills, a military Close Formation Flying instructor/examiner and Chief Pilot .de, will draw that line clearly. Same-way, same-day group flying is accessible, enjoyable, and safe when it's properly briefed. Close Formation Flying is an entirely different discipline, one that demands specific training, currency, and a rigorous briefing system that most pilots have never seen but is surprisingly accessible with the right coaching and the right mindset.
You'll leave with a briefing framework and some very cool practical tools you can use straight away, so your group flying days are safe, structured, and genuinely enjoyable.
And for those who want to go further: in 2027, Wingman Aviation and Air Lovers are planning a formation flying programme for pilots who are motivated to get trained, current, and properly prepared.
