We are so proud to announce that our drivers Derrick Reddin and Loren Lane were awarded the Champion Award from the Missouri Public Transportation Association! These awards recognize the exceptional dedication, compassion, and service that operators provide to our communities.

CGCTA would not be able to succeed and provide services to Cape Girardeau County without our dedicated drivers and staff. Congratulations to Derrick and Loren and thank you so much for your support! 💙💛

Jeff Davis, Loren Lane and Derrick Reddin received Champion Awards from the Missouri Public Transit Association for their service as local transit operators.

With a heavy heart, we said goodbye to our Executive Director Ginny Smith on Friday. These past years with her on our team have seen many positive changes, and we are sad to see her go. Good luck to Ginny on her next journey, and we are excited to see what the future holds for us!

We had a very special birthday surprise at the office today! 🎉🎈

With our Executive Director, Ginny Smith, celebrating her 40th birthday on August 16, our local Principal Financial office helped us start the celebration early with a fun singing telegram delivered by Joy Brooker — complete with balloons, music, and plenty of smiles! 🎶🎂

Thank you to Principal Financial and Joy for helping us make this milestone birthday a little extra special!

Please join us in wishing Ginny a very Happy 40th Birthday! 🥳🎉

🎥 Behind the scenes at CGCTA!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of working with Forever Ready Productions to capture the stories behind the work we do every day at Cape Girardeau County Transportation Authority.

Public transportation is about more than buses—it is about people.

Every ride has a purpose. Every passenger has a story.

For some, that ride means getting to work. For others, it means making it to a medical appointment, accessing essential services, maintaining independence, or simply staying connected to the community.

A special thank-you to Forever Ready Productions for helping us share these important stories.

Stay tuned—we look forward to sharing the finished videos with you!

Our Executive Director, Ginny Smith, recently led a Lunch & Learn with community members and local partners to share more about CGCTA’s services, funding structure, and future plans.

The conversation focused on the important role public transportation plays in Cape Girardeau County and how CGCTA helps connect riders to medical appointments, work, groceries, community programs, family, and other essential needs.

We are grateful for the community members and partners who joined us, asked questions, and continue to support safe, reliable, and accessible transportation in our area.

Thank you for being part of the conversation and for supporting CGCTA’s mission!
