We had a very special birthday surprise at the office today! 🎉🎈

With our Executive Director, Ginny Smith, celebrating her 40th birthday on August 16, our local Principal Financial office helped us start the celebration early with a fun singing telegram delivered by Joy Brooker — complete with balloons, music, and plenty of smiles! 🎶🎂

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of working with Forever Ready Productions to capture the stories behind the work we do every day at Cape Girardeau County Transportation Authority.

Public transportation is about more than buses—it is about people.

Every ride has a purpose. Every passenger has a story.

For some, that ride means getting to work. For others, it means making it to a medical appointment, accessing essential services, maintaining independence, or simply staying connected to the community.

Our Executive Director, Ginny Smith, recently led a Lunch & Learn with community members and local partners to share more about CGCTA’s services, funding structure, and future plans.

The conversation focused on the important role public transportation plays in Cape Girardeau County and how CGCTA helps connect riders to medical appointments, work, groceries, community programs, family, and other essential needs.

We are grateful for the community members and partners who joined us, asked questions, and continue to support safe, reliable, and accessible transportation in our area.

Today we celebrate Clayton on his last day with CGCTA after an incredible 12 years! 🎉

Clayton has been such an important part of our team—keeping our vehicles and office clean. More than that, he’s always brought a positive attitude, a smile, and a willingness to help wherever needed.

Clayton has accepted a full-time opportunity, and while we will truly miss him, we are so excited for this next chapter in his journey.
