You read it right - Motown is going metro! For the first time, the infamous Motown Classic is moving to the big city (suburb). We are also working on transitioning ownership of the outing from Mike and Shelle to the kids… which is why you are just now seeing the official details 2 weeks before the event.

Can’t wait to see all the old and new faces this year. It’s on track to be the biggest yet!

It’s set! MoTown Classic 28 is on the calendar and ready to show off a whole new venue! This will be the first MoTown since the corporate headquarters moved to Southern Iowa and it will be the most unique and fun MoTown yet.

WHEN: Saturday, August 20, 2022. 1pm Shotgun start
WHERE: Leon Golf & Country Club, Leon, IA

Still putting together all details but will still be an 18 hole, 4 person best shot.
We’ll have some great food, awesome live music and all kinds of FUN

Yep, it’s on! MoTown is back after the 2020 No-Town (Thank you COVID-19). Save Saturday, 8/21/21 for MoTown #27! More details to follow, and we hope to see a whole bunch of familiar faces at this years’ event.

Dear Friends of the MoTown Classic: The tournament directors of The MoTown Classic Invitational Golf Outing have made the difficult decision to postpone this years’ event, which was scheduled for August 22. Rest assured that this decision was not taken lightly, but the lingering Coronavirus issues have prompted us to take a year off. While golf is one of the best and safest ways to socialize and still observe physical distancing there are so many other facets to the MoTown experience that frankly encourage just the opposite and would make it difficult to protect ourselves and others. This means that MoTown 27 will now take place in 2021.

That being said, the golf course is still available on the 22nd and we’ve decided to have an ad hoc golf only event that day. No MoTown or corporate sponsorships, no entry fees, no prizes, no dinner. Just an opportunity to throw a foursome or two together and play some golf, maybe catch up with some friends and socialize responsibly. For anyone who’s interested, feel free to reach out. For the others, we hope to see y’all in 2021 for the “better than ever” MoTown 27.

Save-the-Date for the 27th MoTown Classic Invitational Golf Outing!

Proms, graduations, birthday parties, weddings, vacations, concerts, ballgames, etc. 2020 has been tough on many of these activities and no one is really sure what the “new normal” will look like. But right now - as of early June - one major event is still a go. That event is the 27th MoTown Classic Invitational Golf Outing. More details to follow, but save this date and let’s (responsibly) salvage what we can from this crazy, crazy year.
