Fishing has been great since our last trout stocking!
They planted another 5,000 lbs. Of Mt. Lassen rainbow trout on 04/16/24 @ the west launch ramp.

Our next plant is scheduled for the week of 04/29/24!("Week Of" meaning it could be any day that week).

Trout are biting off a lot of different baits. Power bait dough, mice tails, spoons, tubes, and small lead heads all are working when targeting the trout. Nightcrawlers are also a go to. Most fish have spread out from the West launch ramp making for good trout fishing around the lake.

Bass fishing has been improving, especially with water temps rising. Largemouth are starting to move up shallow and a lot of good quality fish are being caught. Smallies are also on the chew lately. Finesse plastics seem to be working best.

Stripers are still being caught off cut bait, nightcrawlers, and lug worms off the bottom. A few anglers have been trolling umbrella rigs and flies on lead-core line. The big swimbait bite has been tough but that's the name of the game. A few trout chasers have been seen around the marinas.

Bluegill and crappie are starting to bite again, and most fish are being caught on meal worms, wax worms, crickets, and small crappie/trout jigs.

Catfish are starting to make more of an appearance but it is still slow for this species. Cut bait, mackerel, nightcrawlers, and chicken liver works best.

We hope to see everyone out here soon!

**FISH REPORT**
Water temp.: 56-58°F
Water Clarity: 10-15 feet
TROUT: The last trout stocking was about a month ago but anglers are still catching limits of trout all around the lake. Hubs, small lead heads, Power-bait, and spoons are working the best. We are expecting another trout plant soon in the next coming weeks, which should be approximately 5,000lbs of Mt. Lassen rainbow trout. Stay tuned for updates!

LARGEMOUTH/SMALLMOUTH: finesse plastics in morning dawn, oxblood, and green pumpkin has been for a number of anglers. Some fish are being caught on small swimbaits and reaction baits. Nightcrawlers are also working for multiple species.

STRIPER: Anglers trolling yak flies on lead-core line have been having some luck, along with umbrella rigs. Big trout swimbaits have been getting a few looks, but otherwise has been a tough bite. Nightcrawlers and lug worms have been working for a number of folks, along with sardines and anchovies.

CATFISH: Bite has been slow but will continue it get better with warmer temperatures in the near future. Cut bait and chicken liver have been a go to.

Bluegill/Crappie: Starting to make more of an appearance at the upper lake. Meal and wax worms, crickets, and crappie jigs have been working for some anglers. The lower lagoon has been better for these species.

Multiple rentals came back yesterday with fish caught. A young angler managed a nice birthday largemouth on a white/chart. spinnerbait.

Trout have also been biting decently from the west and main launch ramps. They have managed to spread out and can be caught all around the lake. Getting out on a boat has proved productive for those targeting the trout. We have a couple more plants to go as well. Hubs, Sierra slammers, mice tails, spoons, and power-bait dough has been working good. Last stocking was on 02/13 and there are still plenty of fish to be caught! Another 5,000lbs. of Mt. Lassen rainbows were put in.

The largemouth and Smallmouth are starting to bite better as well with some Pre-spawn fish fattening up and moving into shallower water.

The striper bite is still decent on cut bait, lug worms, and night crawlers. Trolling around flies on lead-core line and umbrella rigs have been getting anglers bit. A few trout being chased around the marinas is a good sign for the swimbait bite to start picking up.

We hope to see everyone out here! 14 ft. Rental boats are available daily for any anglers looking to explore the lake.

Striper recently started chasing bait on the surface again and have been seen boiling these last couple days. White Top waters, jerk baits, flukes, and umbrella rigs have been working. Spoons worked a little deeper have been seeing some action as well.
Largies and smallies are being caught on plastics, nightcrawlers, small swimbaits, and some reaction baits. Spoons have been working as well.
