Oakley’s Port 33 has the furthest north year-round operation on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System (also known as MKARNS) and is one of the largest privately owned ports on the Arkansas River. Port 33 accommodates both large and small volumes of dry bulk commodities, including fertilizer, pig iron, coal, petroleum coke and many other bulk ores and products. With more than 96,000 t
ons of open bulk material storage on concrete and asphalt pads, as well as 151,000 tons of fertilizer warehouse storage with 16 loadouts, Port 33 has become one of the premier bulk facilities in northeast Oklahoma, and much of the Arkansas River. Because it has a wide variety of handling services and equipment, Port 33 can load and unload from barge to warehouse, warehouse to truck, as well as direct truck to barge or barge to truck. With eight docks available for simultaneous loading and unloading, up to 10 barges a day can be processed through the facility. Additionally, Port 33 runs their own harbor boats, operating up to three at a time, servicing the docks, working inbound/outbound line boat tows and maintaining over 8 fleeting areas with the ability to store up to 150 barges. Other services include barge washing, cover handling, temporary barge and cover repairs and pumping.
