….MISTLETOE SEASON….
As Cedar Park Tree Experts gears up for the mistletoe season, we strive to make sure our customers are completely educated on why mistletoe can be harmful for your trees.
Mistletoe is a parasitic evergreen that takes water and nutrients from its host tree. Although it does not always kill the tree, it can be harmful and weaken the tree, making it more susceptible to drought and disease. Mistletoe puts a root into the feeding zone of the tree, damaging its health and stealing nutrients the tree needs. Mistletoe is primarily spread by birds eating seeds and then defecating on branches, and easily spreads to other trees. Residential mistletoe can be managed by a spray! This is a two-time spray and we will be starting those in the next month or so (weather permitting of course). The first treatment is scheduled once the majority of the leaves have fallen.
If you have mistletoe feel free to email, text, or call us!!🌳
