Metre gauge SLM Winterthur 2-6-0T No.1 (works number 2315 of 1913) at work on the Furka Cogwheel Steam Railway in Switzerland in September 2006. This loco had been built in Switzerland for a company in Vietnam and was repatriated from there in 1990

'At the station.'
Glenbrook is seen at Wabuska Station, which was once used for the Southern Pacific Railroad, donated in 1982, this station plays a part in the operation of the museum operation. The engine was built in 1875 by Baldwin, this 3 foot 2-6-0 operated on the Carson and Tahoe Lumber and Fluming Company, and the Lake Tahoe Railway and Transportation Company. Restored a decade ago, now the engine is 150 years old and counting, the flatcar was built in 1882 by the V&T, a former Carson and Colorado flatcar, which was converted to a passenger car for excursions like this.

TransNamib, Chinese built CKD8c 0004 sits on Windhoek depot on 14/12/2016, delivered in 2004 from CSR Ziyang Locomotive Works, these locomotives were very unsuccessful and only worked for around three years, and in that time the four locos failed 265 times ! All four locos were scrapped a few months after i took the photo

The grandfather of the giants. It is hard to belive that this 0-4-4-0T engine among its siblings are the granddad of UP.s Big Boys. This is the last exisiting (according Swedish sources) of the first Decauville Mallets designed by Mallet. Most of them were built by Tubitze in Belgium but this one was built in Sweden for a 600 mm gauge short line which had to struggle with economics and a pair of these delicate engines. While it siblings were scrapped and replaced by more sturdier designs, this engine was sold to another shortline with a tight budget, overhauled and was in service untill it shutdown. The engine was saved by the Swedish National Railway Museum where I photographed it some 25 years ago but it is now refurbished and seen sometimes in steam at preserved railway in MAriefred located some 60 minute drive south west of Stockholm.
