the weekly rant; saw a post talking about how “its sad that our economy is so bad that people with master’s degrees are doing doordash.”

i mean i agree with that to an extent but the thing im finding contention with about that statement is- if our education system was soooooo good it would have taught a college student critical thinking and even some basic business math so they could add up the fee from those doordash request and line it up against how much they’re being paid by doordash to see how badly they’re getting taken advantage of.
critical thinking would also get them to realize that the pricing structure is literally setup to trick drivers into speeding.
so yeah the economy is bad but why don’t we talk about how some of these college students graduating today are literally still financially illiterate? im not claiming to have done the perfect business math myself but i tell ya one thing. i don’t walk away after a delivery complaining that i only have $3. i didn’t need a college course to learn what i need to be charging. i just learned it the hard way by dedicating myself to my business and eventually it just clicked that i need to financially prioritize my time.
