UNC EASE

EASE is a student organization founded to ensure international students have an incredible study abroad experience at UNC. UNC E.A.S.E.

is a student-run organization that seeks to provide resources to EASE the transition of both incoming and returning international students so that they have an incredible, fun and informative study abroad experience at UNC Chapel Hill. Each incoming international student is paired with a four-year UNC student. The ‘mentor’ contacts his or her international student during the weeks leading up to th

e student’s arrival, ensuring that the student is both informed and excited about the trip. Mentors facilitate the student’s arrival from the airport, then follow up over the semester to make sure the international student is enjoying the experience and is being exposed to UNC’s wealth of social groups and student organizations. EASE also sponsors several social events each month where international and domestic students can all meet as a fun, global community. Our membership is open to all students of UNC-CH. Applications open every summer, so stay tuned! Hello all,

We'd like to welcome new mentors and mentees aboard the EASE express! We're really excited to get this semester started with you.

For all interested in being a mentor and/or worried that you did not hear about applications, we would like to say that there is a slimmer chance for us to release applications during the spring, since we give first priority to fall semester mentors, whose mentees went back to their home university after the completion of 1 semester.

Don't fear, though! We announce the dates for the release of our fall applications here and on our website, as well as through our listserv. In order to request to receive a notification upon the opening date of our Fall 2017 application, please send us a message!

What's good, CrAzY cats? Have you caught the travel bug, enjoy connecting with people from across the globe or bleed Carolina blue? (Added bonus if you said "YAS QUEEN" to all of the above) Alright, keep reading. UNC EASE has some new internationals coming to our kickass campus and we're in need of ~phresh to death~ mentors. We need YOU to share your love for TarNation with incoming exchange students and help them adjust to student/social life on our campus. You have until June 30 to submit your star-studded application. Remember -- this is a HUGE commitment -- you'll be part of an international's perception of the UNC experience, so if you can't make time to make it a good one, please refer another interested applicant.

Interested in being a mentor for exchange students next year? Easing Abroad Student's Entry (that's us!) will be hosting a meet and greet Wednesday, March 9, in the Global Center room 4003 from 6-8pm. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our organization, meet current exec board members, and if you're a current EASE mentor, learn more about exec applications! Mentors, please don't forget to come to a MANDATORY meeting today at 2:30 in the Fedex Global Education Center Rm 1005. We will be taking attendance.
