“Tarzan” Brown – a Narragansett Indian and running legend who won the Boston Marathon in 1936 and 1939 and gave “Heartbreak Hill” its name – was honored when a bronze statue of his likeness was dedicated in Westerly’s Rooney Park near the Amtrak train station.

"It was a long time coming."
