Hello Everyone!
We have been receiving questions in regards to Reserve Pay recently.
Here is a quick breakdown of Reserve Pay [3.K.1-3 (LOA 12 and QOL Improvements)]
1. “A day or portion thereof spent on ready reserve will be credited no less than MDG (Minimum Daily Guarantee) or the actual credit of the flying performed, whichever is greater, to be applied toward monthly guarantee.” [QOL Improvements]
The language in Paragraph 4.D regarding Minimum Daily Guarantee has changed in the QOL Improvements LOA. However, the MDG remains the same at 4 hours of credit.
If there is a discrepancy in regards to this provision in your pay, please contact Crew Pay to have this matter resolved. As a reminder, once on a trip assignment, Trip and Duty Rigs do not apply to reserve pilots.
2. “If a pilot has credited at least 71 hours for flying assigned by the Company in a month, any remaining reserve days can be dropped with the mutual consent of the pilot and the company in order of seniority.” [LOA 12]
Please note that this provision regarding being released from your reserve days must be agreed upon by BOTH the pilot and the company. There is no automatic release of reserve pilots associated with this provision.
Any flying that is picked up in Open Time by a pilot does not count toward the credited 71 hours referred to in this provision.
3. “The credit value of a reserve pilot’s final schedule shall be 75 hours. Any flying performed by a reserve pilot on a day off shall be credited above 75 hours and paid in accordance with paragraphs B.6 and B.7 above.” [LOA 12]
Paragraphs B.6 and B.7 refer to the percentages above the normal hourly pay you would be paid.
B.6. = 125% between 75 and 85 credit hours.
B.7 = 150% above 85 credit hours.
The example given in LOA 12 below Paragraph K.3 is one that gives a pilot that is at 75 credit hours and picks up a 10-hour credited trip and how that will be paid. They would be in the Paragraph B.6 bracket for credit since they would be at 85 hours of credit upon initial pick up from Open Time.
However, please note that due to the QOL Improvements LOA that this portion is suspended while the Premium Pay is in effect. This set to be done on August 31st 2024.
