COELAN Boat Coating Products are designed, developed, and manufactured in Germany. Several independent tests have ranked COELAN Boat Coating as the best solution to many of the most common yacht and boat sealing and coating requirements! COELAN will out-perform any high quality varnish and, once applied, need not be reapplied for many years. The product’s long-lasting durability makes COELAN Boat

Coating an extremely cost effective and long-term solution for the boat-building industry as well as for many private boat owners. Compared to common varnishes COELAN Marine Coating accounts for the fact that wood is a natural material, and, as a result of its hygroscopic nature, it might expand or contract, depending on the humidity level of the environment. The great advantage of COELAN Boat Coating is the flexibility and resilience in its special Water-Vapor Exchange technology. The special coating allows wood to naturally “breathe” and exchange moisture. Conventional coating products seal the wood and do not allow condensate to disappear. If the vapor pressure is not able to vaporize, this can result in the tearing and peeling of other coating products. The COELAN Boat Coating Water-Vapor Exchange technology makes it possible for the natural condensation water to vaporize in a naturally and easily. Through it all, the wood core is protected from a sneaking rot and internal decay. Like a valve, COELAN Boat coating allows the condensation to vaporize, and the tearing and peeling of coating belongs to the past. COELAN’s exceptional qualities provide extremely durable UV and weather resistant surfaces. COELAN Marine varnish is able to bridge hairline cracks on wood, rubber or plastic surfaces, fiberglass, aluminum and steel, solving the problems of permanent leaking decks and making the surface more visually appealing!

🗓 Does it matter to you what day of the week it is when you set sail? Turns out, that many sailors believe that some days are lucky for sailing and some are not.

⚡️ Since Thursday is named after Thor, the Norsk god of storms and lightning, this day is considered to be unlucky for sailing.
Other unlucky days are Mondays, and New Year's Eve (December 31th).

👍 However, Sundays and Saturdays are the luckiest days to go sailing.

😉 A voyage that starts on the 17th or 29th days of the month should also be safe and lucky.

Do you believe in lucky dates? Let us know!

🎣 The situation familiar to many anglers: after successful fishing, there is not only a lot of fish on board but also nasty fish bloodstains. Here’s our advice on how to clean the deck from it:

🧽 It’s best to wipe off the blood right away before it has time to dry. If you don't have time to do this, use regular baking soda to clean the surface from dried blood. To remove old stains, apply hydrogen peroxide, rub gently with a soft cloth and rinse with water.

🐾 Although being notorious for bringing bad luck ashore, black cats are known to be a good omen aboard.

⛵️ This naval superstition originated from England, which may seem a bit odd since black cats were a sign of bad luck in Europe at the time. However, some sailors believed that at sea many superstitions of the land had reversed meaning. Thus, black felines became common companions of the crew in sea voyages. The superstition was so popular, that often wives of the sailors kept black cats at home to extend good luck towards their husbands.

Now let us know what you think about this superstition in the comments. 📲 Do you believe in it or not? Looking forward to reading your opinion.
