Transportation is an important part of independence, and yesterday we had the opportunity to help students see what’s possible.
Jaunt was proud to partner with PATH for a presentation with students from Louisa County Public Schools, focused on public transportation, mobility options, and how reliable transportation can support greater independence.
Igor with PATH led the discussion, helping students explore the transportation resources available to them and understand how services like Jaunt can help them get to work, appointments, activities, and other destinations without always relying on someone else for a ride.
Students also had the opportunity to experience Jaunt firsthand. A special thank you to Simona for taking the group on a ride to Food Lion, the Betty Queen Center, and back. Giving students the chance to ride the bus transformed the conversation from theory into a real-world experience.
Another highlight was seeing the rider registration process happen in real time. Two students called Jaunt and spoke with Tasha, who helped them set up their rider profiles while their classmates watched. Thank you, Tasha, for your patience, support, and for demonstrating just how accessible that first step can be.
We also want to thank Bethany Ruhlman, Coordinator of Special Education for Louisa County Public Schools, along with the teachers and staff who welcomed us and helped make this opportunity possible. We appreciate your partnership and all you do to prepare students for greater independence and success.
