The Company was created by hundreds of year-round and seasonal residents in order to serve the transportation needs of our island. We welcome all those who want t

o experience the unique community of the newest town in Maine, Chebeague Island. Our ferry service operates several trips daily between Chebeague Island and Yarmouth, Maine. The 15-minute ride carries an average of nearly 10,000 passengers per month on our 103 passenger ferry, the Islander.

Rumor has it that there will be significant delays due to road construction on Cousins Island. We recommend allowing more time to get to the Cousins Island parking lot. If you are a Route One customer, the ferry will wait for the bus if it has not arrived to the wharf due to delays.

If you’ve filled up your car lately, you’ve probably noticed fuel prices are on the rise—and CTC is feeling it too. Our boats and buses use about 2,000 gallons per month!

One of the ways we’re helping offset those rising costs has led to a pretty unique opportunity for the Islander.

Not every day one of our boats gets to spend time in Boston Harbor—Islander has been in the middle of some pretty exciting activity this spring, including a submarine commissioning.

The Islander has been in Boston supporting the Outward Bound program while their vessel is in the shipyard. It’s been a great partnership—supporting an organization doing meaningful work while also generating important revenue for CTC at a time when fuel costs have increased significantly.

What does that mean for our community?

No impact to regular service
Backup plans are in place if needed
This additional revenue is helping offset rising fuel costs and reducing the likelihood of fare increases
We’ll continue to keep a close eye on things and keep the community informed.
