FYI⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

Folks for those that don't know they are giving some nasty weather for this Friday into Saturday, possibly Sunday, a classic Nor Easter. As of right now we are not canceling Friday morning, however there is a strong possibility that could change as we get closer and get more updated forecast as we need to be able to have time to secure our ferry boats in safer locations. This is a very powerful storm and currently no one can agree on how much it's going to affect Maine coast. What we do know is it could produce very strong winds, tropical rain amounts, with an extreme high tide. So if you need to 100 % be somewhere Friday or Saturday I'd highly suggest leaving a day early. We apologize for any inconvenience this could cause, but this is not a storm to mess around with. Safety of our vessels and passengers are top priority.

We are happy to announce that our newest member of the fleet M/V First light is ready for service. She has just undergone her change of zone USCG certificate of inspection to carry passengers in this sector. She comes to us from Chesapeake Bay, where she was the Smiths island ferry previously known as Capt Jason II. She was renamed First Light after the first place sun rises which is right here in our very own backyard. She will be captained by Capt Amanda bracy , and crewed by Kariah Sumner & Lily Alley

Our staff has been working hard in putting all of its new systems through its paces and saftey checks. She is 45ft Bruno hull, will hold 29 passengers 2 crew, we are hoping to revisit those numbers at a later time with USCG Belfast inspection team to add more passengers.

She’s Equipped with two fully certified packed life-rafts, fire fighting systems, and all brand new communication and navigational equipment and lights as the safety of our passengers is our top priority. Our maintenance team has been working very hard past 4 months to get all this work done. We plan to put her into service next week. Welcome to the team First light we look forward to you all meeting her.
