Talk About Pretty Ugly Packages:
Afterglow Brewing’s
What Wood Barry Do?
Foeder Aged Baltic Porter 8.2%
The wait is over. Afterglow’s first-ever beer pulled from the Foeder has officially arrived, and it’s making a massive debut.
When it came time to name this maiden voyage, we asked the most important question: What Wood Barry Do?
Spoiler alert: He’d turn it up to eleven, age it in oak, and make it hit harder than a double kick in the final chorus.
THE BEER:
This 8.2% Baltic Porter was laid down in oak for its maiden voyage, soaking up layers of toasted wood, soft vanilla, and subtle tannins. Those notes perfectly round out a base of rich dark chocolate, molasses, and raisin.
It pours darker than backstage before the lights flip on. The oak presence? Smooth and structured. The body? Big enough to crowd surf. The finish? Clean, composed, and just dry enough to make you immediately reach for an encore pour.
It’s bold, balanced, and just structured enough to make you nod your head like you’re front-row at soundcheck while the amps hum and the snare cracks.
THE COLLAB:
Brewed in collaboration with Barry Kerch (the powerhouse drummer for Shinedown) and the smoke-slinging legends at Boos, Brews & BBQ, this one hits heavy but finishes clean and dangerously drinkable.
Barry brought the rhythm. Boos, Brews & BBQ brought the fire. Afterglow brought the wood. Together? They built a Baltic Porter that lands like a thunderous tom fill and lingers like the smell of oak and brisket in the air.
This isn’t a polite little sipper. This is a headliner.
THE DETAILS:
It’s our foeder’s debut record.
Turn it up. Let it resonate.
Because when you ask, What Wood Barry Do?
He’d age it in oak, crank the volume, and make sure the finish leaves you wanting one more round before the house lights come on.
