L.P. Transportation began over 100 years ago as Van Rompaye Trucking Co. to haul fresh produce from New York's Black Dirt region and bulk milk to nearby New York City. As liquefied petroleum gas (LP) grew in popularity and began to emerge as a new transportation market, Andrew Palmer Sr. purchased L. P. Transportation and his first LP transport. From there the company grew to become the leading bulk transporter of propane and over the years added liquefied natural gas (LNG), butane, sodium hypochlorite (bleach) and sodium hydroxide (caustic) to the list of hazardous material commodities that the company specializes in transporting.
