I know... I know...

That may be concerning. 😂

Most people hear: “Less-than-truckload”
and immediately think:

📦 Pallets
📋 Class
🧮 Dimensions
📞 Pickup appointments
🚛 Terminals
😵‍💫 Tracking

Me?

I'm over here like: “Ooooh, let me quote that.”

But here's why good LTL service matters.

Your freight may only be a few pallets, but that doesn't make it unimportant.
-It still has a destination.
-It still has a deadline.
-AND ... there is still a person on the other end waiting for it.

Small shipment does NOT mean small problem when it doesn't show up.

That's why we treat every shipment like it matters.

Because it does.

WE DON'T EXPECT FREIGHT TO ALWAYS GO PERFECTLY.
We expect there to be problems.
That's transportation.
Weather happens.
Drivers get delayed.
Equipment gets tight.
Terminals get busy.
Appointments get missed.
Roads get closed.
Things happen.
What matters is what happens next.
Do you know about the problem?
Does someone have a plan?
Is the shipper informed?
Is the consignee informed?
Is somebody actually working on it?
That's the difference between simply moving freight and managing freight.
And managing freight is what we're here to do.

If your business is closed Monday for a holiday or has unusual receiving hours, make sure your transportation provider knows.

Yes, even if it seems obvious....

Yes, even if you've mentioned it before....

Yes, even if you think the carrier already knows....

Because “everybody knows” is one of the most expensive phrases in transportation. 😂

OCTOBER IS WHEN FREIGHT STARTS GETTING A LITTLE... SPICY. 🌶️🚛

Cooler weather.
Changing road conditions.
Storm activity.
Holiday planning.
More volume.
Tighter schedules.

I can feel shippers thinking:
“Surely we can squeeze one more shipment into this week.” 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe we can.

But.... please, let's talk about it BEFORE the shipment becomes an emergency.

The best freight conversations happen before the pickup date.
Not after the truck is already supposed to be there.

Planning isn't boring. Planning is what keeps boring freight boring.

And honestly?

Boring freight is beautiful.

Weather can delay pickups
Busy warehouses can throw off schedules MIssed delivery appointments can leave shippers AND consignees frustrated

The secret? Plan ahead, communicate early, and don't leave the little details to chance!

WHY DOES WEATHER AFFECT FREIGHT SO MUCH YOU ASK? 🌧️🚛

Because luckily still ~ trucks don't travel through a vacuum. They travel through:

🌧️ Rain
💨 Wind
🌫️ Fog
❄️ Snow
🚧 Construction
🚗 Traffic
🌊 Flood-prone areas

And when weather slows down one portion of a route, the effects can travel right along with the freight. That doesn't mean every storm creates a major delay.

It means transportation is connected.

One problem in one place can create a domino effect somewhere else.
That's why we watch the whole shipment, not just the pickup address.

Freight has a route.

We have a responsibility to understand it.

HOLIDAY SHIPPING DOESN'T START WHEN THE HOLIDAY ARRIVES. 🎄

It starts when businesses start planning for it. That means:

Warehouses get busier.
Orders increase.
Inventory moves.
Receiving schedules get tighter.
And suddenly everybody needs everything yesterday.

We're not there yet, but we're heading that direction.

If you know November and December are going to be busy for your business, now is a pretty good time to look at your transportation needs.

Future-you may send current-you a thank-you card.

Probably not.

But future-you will be less stressed. 😂

We've all heard it~ “My tracking says it's moving.”
“Yes, but…” That little “but” is where freight professionals earn their coffee.

Because tracking information tells you where freight has been.
It doesn't always tell you everything that is happening around it.

Weather.
Terminal congestion.
Missed connections.
Equipment availability.
Delivery appointments.
Road conditions.
Sometimes the freight is moving exactly as planned.
Sometimes the plan needs adjusting
And that's why having someone actually paying attention matters.

A tracking number is useful.

A human who understands what the tracking number means?
