Great season!
Now that my 2021 season has come to an end I wanna thank everyone who made this year possible.
From starting out the season driving the #48 for John Johnson and Mark and Colton Flinner. Getting a win in that car was awesome! A dream come true really. We had some very strong runs early in the season. Probably should have won more races but I made some rookie mistakes. Also learned so much about late model racing and how to work on the cars, thanks so much to those guys.
About half way through the year Jack Mahoney asked if I would be interested in racing his Rush Sprint Car, Heck ya! Pretty bummed that we weren’t able to pull off a win, but we had a strong 2nd place finish at ppms, and lead some laps at sharon one night. Closed our season out with a top 5 at latrobe and figuring out the engine issue that we struggled with for most the races.
Then towards the end of the year Bob Bentz gave me an opportunity to drive his #60 car, first night out we set quick time, won the heat, won the dash, and finished Second in the feature. A few weeks later we were running 2nd in a tour race and got turned around on a restart, was really trying to get Bob a win this year and get my first tour win, that car was hauling some serious butt that night!
In the middle of September Ken Chernik let me run his Rush Late Model at ppms. We won our heat and ran 5th in the feature. Very cool that someone who I hardly knew let me run his car.
It’s pretty wild how much my life has changed in the last year and a half, I’m so grateful for all the opportunities I have been given and the new friendships that have been created.
Thanks to all the different sponsors and crew members! Racing at any level is a team sport and requires help from many different people.
I’ll stop rambling on and end this post with a quote…
“Have a merry off season, and happy Christmas” -Chase Elliot
