Captain Jerry Beno

Captain Jerry Beno I like to think I have a pulse on the charter groups on my boats- meaning I'll make adjustments to the trip based on how people are doing.

25 years of Great Lakes and Ocean boating experience , including 6 years licensed USCG 100 Ton Master Captain with Sailing Endorsement and 25 Ton Near Coastal Ocean. With a good track record that includes zero accidents or incidents, I'm a very "aware" captain regarding navigation, safety, and social cues to make sure my guests are having fun! I'm quite friendly and communicative on how to make th

e best of the trip based on weather conditions. I'll advise your group and let you decide if you want to go to the river, playpen north, Monroe playpen, Navy Pier cruise, or somewhere south. My guests always have a good time and don't want to leave the boat! I'll do my best to provide you with a great outing!

I had some frisky lil fellas following me yesterday and my guests are always thrilled when I can get them to jump my wake. These Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins love love love playing in waves!

Todays office cubicle was this 2023 Formula 33 footer with triple 300 outboards. Formula is one of my favorites boats because of the good mix of speed and elegance- like a Mercedes AMG. We blasted around Keewaydin Island, Marco Island, and the Gulf, with a few dolphin sightings along the way, including them following our boat to jump through our waves!

Today was an amazing day exploring the Gulf Coast towns in SW Florida. Left Naples Bay, headed north to Venetian Bay (where the buildings are on stilts, like Venice), then down to Marco Island where I dropped them off for dinner at the Esplanade Shops. Had to use the spotlight a few times for the unlit channel markers, then a nice haul through the open waters of the Gulf in the black of night, with a gentle cool wind across our faces over the mirror glass waters.

I'm proud to say that I have a published article in the Naples Florida Weekly newspaper! They published it exactly the way I wrote it, so they must've liked the writing. It's based on my Florida Panther sighting when out doing a charter here. There are estimated to be 160 wild Panthers in the entire state, and according to an ecologist at the Florida Wildlife Commission, the last time one was witnessed in this area of Rookery Bay/Naples/Marco Island was 10 years ago. I saw one three weeks ago and it became big news! Click the link for the article....

A terrific new boat owner called in Captain Jer to drive him and his family around today. He loves the joystick and Sea keeper but not used to handling his boat yet. Yes, Florida has clouds and overcast days too!

Family day on this brand new 51 Schaefer. I've never seen this boat in the Great Lakes, but it has that new boat smell like I remember at every boat show, and was a pleasure to drive. The other captain threw me behind the helm as long as I kept her in the channel! My first experience using a joystick at the stern to dock!
