🎨♻️ It’s time to Move Good and Do Good!

Today’s donation goes to The WasteShed, an awesome organization dedicated to giving art supplies a second life while keeping perfectly good creative materials out of landfills.

Basically, they looked at a pile of old paintbrushes, fabric scraps, markers, yarn, and miscellaneous crafty doodads and said:
“That’s not garbage. That’s somebody’s next masterpiece.”

Instead of tossing unused art supplies, The WasteShed gets them back into the hands of artists, teachers, students, and other creative humans who can actually use them.

So before you throw away that giant box of craft supplies you swore you'd use someday... give The WasteShed a look!
Less waste. More art. More weird stuff made out of pipe cleaners.

⛏️🚚 Every month we hand out the Andre Lyons Award to the mover who DIGS IN the most—stepping up, helping other crews, and going above and beyond when we need it.

Yes, we realize it’s already September.

No, our awards department does not own a calendar.

So without further delay, August’s Andre Lyons Award goes to MARIO! 🏆

Mario repeatedly stepped up when other crews needed a hand and proved that when the call goes out for help, he’s ready to jump in and GET WORK DONE.

It’s Tuesday Crewsday! This week we’re featuring one of our awesome movers, Walter!

We hit him with the important questions:

🍌 What are you weirdly good at?

Buying the exact amount of bananas at the exact right level of greenness.

That’s not a skill. That’s potassium wizardry. The rest of us are either staring at six green rocks or making emergency banana bread.

🏀 All-time favorite Chicago athlete?

Derrick Rose.

🌹 Correct.

🐶 If dogs could talk for five minutes, what’s the first thing you’d ask?

“Would you rather I talk to you like a normal person, or do you actually like the baby talk?”

FINALLY. Someone asking the question humanity desperately needs answered. WHO’S A GOOD BOYYYY?!

“Big Shot” by Billy Joel.

So there you have it: Walter moves furniture, respects D-Rose, understands bananas at a molecular level, seeks answers from dogs, and apparently turns into Billy Joel after two beers and a microphone. 🎹

🏆🚚 WE HAVE A NEW DAD!

Relax, nobody had a baby.

At last week’s All Team Meeting, Ben was crowned our newest DAD — Dope Ass Driver!

Ben earned the hardware by doing all the things that make a great Move-tastic! driver:

🚚 Takes amazing care of his truck
🛡️ Keeps everything inside safe
✅ Follows the rules of the road
✅ 💪 Treats our equipment like it’s his own

Being a great mover is one thing. Being trusted behind the wheel of one of our big ol’ trucks is another—and Ben has proven he’s got what it takes.

🏁🚲 THE MOVE-TASTIC! 500 IS IN THE BOOKS!

Although this year it was more like the Move-tastic! 100.

Traditionally, our adult-sized Big Wheel race takes place on a loop designed for maximum speed, questionable decisions, collisions, and general carnage.

But this year our parking lot was looking a little too pitted-out for comfort, so for the FIRST TIME EVER we did something completely out of character:

We erred on the side of safety. 🤯

We switched to a straightaway, 24 brave competitors put pedal to plastic, and when the dust settled—and everyone remained mostly intact—we crowned our champions:

🥇 1st Place — Kenny
🥈 2nd Place — Tyler
💩 Turd Place — Nate

Congrats to our winners and everyone who raced!
Less carnage than usual? Yes.

Grown adults furiously pedaling oversized children's toys for cash?
Still absolutely ridiculous. 🏁

🏆🚚 August’s Mover of the Month goes to TAYVEUS!

Tayveus hasn’t been with us all that long, but apparently he didn’t feel like waiting around to start collecting hardware. 😂
His winning formula is pretty simple:

That combination gets noticed—and this month, it earned him MOM honors!

🔥🍖 GRILLMASTER PETE HAS ENTERED THE CHAT.

Our monthly crew cookout got a little upgrade this time around. Along with the usual burgers and dogs, Grillmaster Pete decided to get fancy and throw some RIBS into the mix.

Because apparently feeding a moving crew burgers and hot dogs just wasn't enough meat.

The grill was hot. The smoke was rolling. The ribs were saucy. And absolutely nobody left hungry.

💚🚚 It’s time to Move Good and Do Good!

Today’s donation goes to the Kilbourn Park Advisory Council, a fantastic local group helping connect our community with nature through environmental stewardship, sustainable gardening, fresh food, and garden-based programs for people of all ages. 🌱🥕🌎

Sounds pretty wholesome, right?

Well, then there’s Caroline—the big cheese—leading people into the park after dark... TO FIND BATS. 🦇

Yep. Bat walks are a thing. And quite frankly, we’re a little disappointed nobody told us sooner.

Gardening. Healthy food. Nature. Community. BATS.
What’s not to love?!

Big thanks to Caroline and the whole Kilbourn Park crew for making our neighborhood greener, healthier, and apparently a little more Batman-ish. 🦇🌱💚

🎉🚎 Work hard, trolley harder.

Last week we took our incredible office team out on the town to celebrate an EPIC summer of hard work, long days, controlled chaos, and results that made it all worthwhile.

We hopped aboard a trolley, explored some hidden Chicago gems, headed to the top of the Hancock for some sky-high views, and finished the night with dinner at Beatnik on the River.

Basically, we behaved like tourists in our own city—and it was glorious.

This crew absolutely crushed it all summer, taking care of our customers, supporting our movers, solving approximately 47,000 problems, and somehow keeping the Move-tastic! machine humming along.

The night out was just a small token of our appreciation because, truthfully, there's no dinner, trolley ride, or fancy view that can properly thank them for everything they do.

We're ridiculously proud of this team. ❤️🚚
