Time Out’s Best Places to Visit in Asia 2025: TAINAN! 🥢

In its Dec. 19, 2024 edition, Time Out named Tainan, Taiwan as one of the must-visit destinations in Asia for 2025—and we couldn’t agree more! But maybe we’re a little biased… after all, we’ve spent much of our childhood and adult life here.

Locals call Tainan a foodie heaven, and for good reason. This city is obsessed with "little eats" (小吃)—irresistible street food bites that have been perfected over generations. 🥢 From delicate Taiwanese spring rolls (潤餅) to silky tofu pudding (豆花), the flavors here are endless. Craving something bold? Try crispy, golden stinky tofu (臭豆腐) with spicy pickled cabbage. Or go for a Tainan classic—fresh tomato slices dipped in a savory soy sauce-ginger syrup (薑汁番茄). 🍅

Alishan National Forest Just Made the New York Times Top 50 Places to Visit in 2025! ✨

And we couldn’t agree more! Alishan, in central/southern Taiwan, is a place we absolutely love—so much so that I even celebrated a childhood birthday there! On our recent visit, we soaked in breathtaking sunrise by getting up early to take the morning train inside the forest area & hiked serene forest trails. It’s the perfect mix of adventure & relaxation. 🌄
